Kati's '98 Forester S

yeah it was a pretty good time. did a bunch of fly fishing, caught a bunch of Brookies. The funny part about the water crossing was the 3/4 ton pickup that was parked on one side of it because he didn't think he could make it.

Looks great, love the pics in water and articulation on gravel piles. How do you like the header? Thinking of getting one for my outback.

Thanks guys. I like the header. As with most of them, it has to be worked into place a little, but wasn't really all that hard. It sounds better, but is still quiet with the stock cat back. I still have to get the XT exhaust fitted. For the price, the header and test pipe is awesome. And the test pipe looks like it's catted!

Recently bought some used parts for this. Bought some very low mileage front and rear brakes from an 05 XT from Texas, very clean, no rust, and they came with cryo treated rotors, and hawk pads. I plan on painting the calipers with some high temp paint before installing to help keep the rust away. Also picked up an adapter to install the XT cat back. Just need to get some gaskets for that. And Kati will be stopping at Norms tomorrow (they seem to be the only place that has one) to get a good used front hub to fix the wheel bearing issue. Can't wait to get it all installed once it all shows up!

I will say that even though Norms is at the top end of the price range the 1000 mile warranty on used parts is nice. Also the hub assembly should have everything with it.

So I went to change the hub on Saturday and found that miraculously, the wheel isn't loose anymore........very odd. I shook it every which way, and spun it and heard no noise or resistance. So I'm going to hold off on that for now, and keep an eye on it.

I did get the 05 Forester XT cat back installed tonight though. I used an MS3 adapter, which aren't made anymore. Worked great except for the typical hassle trying to find the right sized doughnut gaskets at the local parts store, but I found ones that worked. It has a deeper, more rumbly tone to it now, and definitely is louder, but still pretty quiet at normal driving. But it's newer and in better shape, and the sound improved, so I'm happy with it.

went on a road trip to my grandparents camp today with the kids, and Kati too. Hadn't been up there for a couple years. didn't realize they had put some new wind power right behind the camp! I heard about the ones going in on Blue Hill, but this isn't Blue Hill, although it is down that way. These things are huge!

Finally installed the tow hitch on this today. Actually went on pretty easy. I was dreading rusty bolts, but they all came out, which was a nice surprise. Now I can tow a trailer if I need to, and it's a nice strong recovery point........for recovering other vehicles of course! Lol

What's this one going to be used for.
Driving. Lol. The last owner said his mechanic wouldn't put a sticker on it because of rust, that is just dumb. There is a little on the frontside lip of the passenger side rear wheel well/fender, and there is a small hole through the back side of the same wheel well, but goes straight through to air on the other side. easily patched up for a sticker, and it unsafe in any way. Needs a drivers side rear strut, as the one that's on it is bent and rubbing the inside of the wheel well. And could use some valve cover gaskets as it skips a little at idle, and they leak a bit. But it's the SOHC motor, and a 5spd. Goes good. Might as well drive it.

Used this to pull a 3/4 ton Chevy, and a 4x4 Ranger out of 2.5-3' of snow today. They were both impressed lol.

Were the heck are you with that much snow lol
It was on an old road on the edge of a field where the snow had blown in and made huge drifts. They have gotten much smaller but are still pretty damn deep. This was in Alna.

Strut bar from a certain 2000 Impreza WRX STi Type RA Limited number 603/2000 that was owned by Ferrari. And yes, it's pretty much for looks on this rig.
