The way I look at it is...

I got into a collision because a similar jack-ass to RezPunk's jackass decided to gun it ahead of me from the yield sign. Be safe, get out of their way, because you never know what jackass is coming onto the highway.

After all, Maine is full of Masshole drivers now...

its not so much as right of way as it is the fact that the EXPECT me to move over for them and get all pissy when i dont.

PS -- those who have road-tripped with me know there is a new swear-word to describe these annoying creatures who can't seem to merge gracefully...F((*^%$$##!! MERGERS!!

I think it's just a common courtesy to move over to the left lane especially if the left lane is clear. On-ramps are for coming up to speed with teh highway traffic and merging in. When assholes don't move over it causes people to have to slow down on the on-ramp. Then they're slower getting on the highway which in turn slows traffic on the highway.

You're just adding to the problem by not moving over.

Yaah, you're supposed to yield when merging in, but at least give the merger a chance to get in.

I was driving our truck and pulling a horse trailer along the highway. Up ahead was a civic that had stopped on the right side of the highway, but began to accelearate. I guess he figured I was supposed to pull into the left lane for him, cause he drove down the shoulder of the road beside me! If I was in my car I might have moved, but since I was hauling a full trailer there was no way! Stupid teenage quebec drivers

to make my case stronger i will lay out a scenario that happened just this evening on my way home from Auburn.

i was on the highway passing a fellow and we were passing the Newport on ramp. there was a truck that was entering the highway and the dipshit in the left lane started to merge INTO ME! all because he was extendind a bit of common courtesy. he damn near ran me and my family off the road because he feels those entering the highway have right of way.

i am an ass i know this. wife gets mad at me for not stopping for people trying to cross the road if they aren't in crosswalks. go figure.

lol, if im the only one on the road, i move into the other lane anyway... LOVING old people/assholes/the ignorant just charge into the lane anyway, going 40 no less.

my middle started to get carpal-tunnel so i just give 'em the wicked eye as i pass nowadays... but im usually going too fast for them to notice...

Obviously he was not looking before merging. Extending common courtesy also means looking in the mirror before changing lanes. I think you're just an asshole driver magnet.
