Maybe someone actually *gasp* changed the coolant!I'm beginning to think the engine has been out of my car or something was done so that the coolant had to be drained. Used a tester to check the condition. Results showed that the coolant would protect me for well below -40.
What was the ph level though. Coolant can test normal for degrees but be very acidic and eat things like water pump fins.I'm beginning to think the engine has been out of my car or something was done so that the coolant had to be drained. Drop it all out the bottom, front crossmember and tranny crossmemberI looked at my Legacy and thought "LOVING piece of crap" and thought about what a pain it's going to be to fix....
Pulling an engine is a walk in the park compared to what this pile is facing me with.
Not sure how I'm going to haul my engine and transmission at the same time yet... Well, I have one idea. Stand clear for some pictures...
I might contemplate that in the summer. But not laying on a concrete floor that's 10 degrees....Drop it all out the bottom, front crossmember and tranny crossmember
Haha. I beat you that bad that you sold it?I think the Acura is sold.
Well if it was changed at some point it is 7-8 years old now because I highly doubt the PO changed it without having some sort of work done.Maybe someone actually *gasp* changed the coolant!
You know... like you're supposed to every 2 years.... Along with things like brake fluid. Kind of important.
I didn't do a ph test. Never even crossed my mind. What was the ph level though. Coolant can test normal for degrees but be very acidic and eat things like water pump fins.
Good to know. I'll try that... but my rear lens is still broken. Not bad, but enough that water/condensation can get in there. I should look for some 04 tails!it's a plastic bumper skin. Easy to fix and if you're not satisfied, relatively cheap to replace. I did worse in high school backing into my mom's minivan with a Buick Lesabre. I feel your pain though. push on that from behind and it should pop right back out.
