My plans for this summer! G35 will die

yeah, just emissions wise.

i'm the same as you pat, it isn't somethnig i'd pay attention to, but its still illegal. its like going catless. you can do it, but if you get caught its $2500. its a bit easier to spot a inline 6 where there used to be a v-6 though.

$2500 for running cat-less?

With so many aftermarket "hi-flow" cats for sale, one would have to be a pretty good investigator to sort out, with 2.5" of ground clearance which one's a test-pipe and which one isn't.

I'm going to slam the STi for the summer, and I'll probably do some custom flattening of the HKS fart can when I'm not paying attention. My next exhaust won't be any less loud, but it won't have a pseudo-muffler that you could shoot watermelons from. When the plug on this exhaust is removed, running catless, you can hear it half a mile away. When it was installed last fall, I neglected to order the plug-and that made me really popular with the neighbors. They still won't wave at me any more, gosh, all over six weeks of straight-pipe STi, go figure!

holy thread revival batman...yeah Pat, how did this work out since the original thread was started 2 years ago ?
LOL wow.... So it worked into I had 6k to spend to supercharge the motor and get a few goodies... I was talked out of it by a few people and decided to buy a diesel truck to mod... Took the truck out and it threw a code for the lift pump and something else that was about $800 to fix... the guy dropped his price from $6200 down to 4300 when this happend... I said f this something must be wrong. Bought a lifted dodge ram with lowish miles for 3k and bought some 35's and 20s... Let someone borrow it for a weekend... a friend of a friend. He blew the transmission and broke some suspension parts. Sold it for 1500 and bought a few parts for the g35 and called it a day.

I realized that I like that g35 a little higher (now only 2 or 3 in drop or so) and I like it as is with a few small body mods... It is hard for me with my back to drive a manual car (as I found with the e36) so I am gonna just love it as it is, the valve body upgrade makes it a blast to drive!!!

Its pretty good in the snow with the tires I have on it and it has heated seats... I am selling my Expedition tomorrow (just put new brakes rear, all 4 lines, new rockers, starter, tires, battery, ignition switch, window reg, full detail, dash lights, all lights around, new fluids in everything, trailor wiring, exhaust, etc) ... hate to do it but need the cash

I think I am buying a SUBARU THO! EITHER AN Impreza, OBS or a Forester!

Gonna get one tomorrow or monday! The ****ty thing is I am meeting the guy tomorrow to sell it... was supposed to today but had to finish cleaning it and the rockers getting done thanks to big sexy... the pass rear brake line blew at 9:30... to late to get a new one... the only one that hadn't been replaced.

Its off now and its only gonna take 15 mins to get it put in tomorrow when Sexy comes over again lol... THANKS MAN!

The guy that is getting this thing is lucky as it was owned by an older guy who did everything... and I have kept up on it fixing everything that looked like it was worn (i was going to drive it to florida to leave it this spring at my sisters place as a ride for my parents and myself when we go to visit...) I have put more then I paid for it into fixing it up... and nothing but two brake lines needed to be replaced. I will def get a ford again! Excursion diesel next time!

Holy crap, I read the entire first page before I realized the dates on the posts.

If you buy an OBS, will your mom let you change the battery in it?

ha, obviously i knew he didn't swap or s/c it. i was just wondering what chain of events happened since then. i forgot about the ram, that sucks what happened to it.

i think the lesson is, the hobby that we get ourselves wrapped up in, is not about making money. in most cases it's about slowly burning your money without tons to show for it. and we still do it and enjoy all of it
