Post Your Appropiate Pics (Work Safe Please)

Genral Motors offered fiberglass fenders as the originals would rust in no time.. My dad worked for GM for 23 years and absolutely hated these cars. He used to say "from the front of the doors back not to bad but the front fenders would seem to rust over night and the motor couldn't haul a sick baby off a piss pot". He said the only one worth a damn was the Cosworth.

my mother in law had a vega that burned more oil than gas. she used to tell the guy at the gas station "fill the oil check the gas"

They most likely were. the tops of the fenders would rust fast. They also had a shipment of the Luv pick up that rusted overnight on the dock waiting to come over from Japan

My Mom had a Pontiac Astre. These were pretty much the same as the Vega, but with a different badge i think. It was this light blue color and I don't know what year it was. She drove it for a while and it became mine when I got my license. I hated the color of course, but I had a car and that sure beats walkin. I drove it for a couple of months with no issues, until I was screwing around on my muddy street with pot holes full of water. I hydroplaned off the road to my left and dropped about 5ft into a tele pole. It bent the frame and that's it. I wasn't going fast enough to dent the front end in. Since it was no longer be driven on the streets, we used it as "go fer" car in my stepdad's junkyard. I was surprised to hear all this about the Vega, when I had the feeling that they were good cars, for a cheap little GM.

Since you took the time to read my last story post then here is a good work safe wall for your trouble
