SiF Motorsports. A shitty legacy, nearly 10 years of RS racing turned rally car. Bonus jeep and mustnag junk

Good job bringing back this Legacy from its sure to be Scrapyard destiny. I did the exact thing for my wife with an OBS. Got her out of a Mercury Sable money pit and into a Subie! Well done!

Since the RS doesn't need floor mats anymore:

All I had planned to do today was pull the seats to remove the carpet. I took a screw driver to the sound deadening and it started coming off in chunks:

So I got the air chisel out and went to town.

Got all of it out except for the front. I'm going to probably pull the dash next weekend to get all of it out from there. Also, the RS motor sounds like it has knock at idle, I should probably source another one before next summer. Next weekend I'll be fixing the motorcycle up for sale and showing NateGr8 how to work on carburators, and also working on the RS more.

Nategr8 came over today for a lesson in carburators since he's got a bike now.

Worked on the Ninja 250 today. Needed to clean the carbs out after not doing any maintenance on it since last summer when I got it running and proceed not to get it registered and insured.

Need to sell this.

Yup a bunch of plastic has to come off and the damn carb is squeezed into no mans land.

After unclogging the tiny jet, it runs. Little puffs of smoke after sitting all winter.

Took it up the road and it runs awesome. Full range of power.

So fresh so clean:

It's like I'm mikey, legacy and bike... but mine are really slow

Carbs are the best. I can't wait to clean and sync 4 of 'em. Sweet lookin' bike though.

Hey Dan, going to buy and strip an '02 waggie and think i found a guy who can build a cage
Nice, let me know if you need a hand.

Forgot to post what I did sunday:

JIMBO came over and ripped out the lower dash for me while I worked on trying to figure out why the rear right strut area has a nasty clunk.

I got the strut out and disassembled it and everything seems to be in working order.

I also pulled the lights, lock cylinder, center garnish, and badges off the old trunk so it can go to the scrap pile.

Going to take the badges and mount them on magnets for my fridge (new trunk already has badges so now I have an extra set):

Tow rig is also in the works

New stuff going on all sorts of fronts

Race mustang got a three row radiator upgrade and a new hood to try and manage engine temps better.

Hood was rattle canned, this weekend the rest of the car will get more rattlecanning.

On the legacy, the headliner and sun visors were pretty gross. Some idiot played in the interior with dirty hands and smeared grease and raisin all over the headliner, visors, and oh poop handles. Got a bottle of simple green and cleaned the hell out of it.

I had previously knocked the bubbling rust off the legacy rear quarters and hit them with chassis saver. Today I finally color matched the passenger side. Driver side needs a bumper cover tab welded on before I finish it.

Rattle can 10 foot don't give a fudge style.

Since it was hood day on the mustang, I decided to keep the theme going. I didn't want to weld or unbolt stuff.

Rattlecanning satin black then getting color match once I fix the dents, make a blockoff plate, and get it sorted. WRX hood is aluminum and will be a huge weight savings off the front of the car compared to my stock steel hood.

Went out to dinner

Cat

Went to go visit my sister sunday.

Ended up playing bumper cars on the way there.

Legacy aftermath:

Swapped shoes with the RS. Going to try and get replacement panels this week. Car drives fine, go figure. Only casualties were driver fender and door, plus a wheel and tire.

Worked on the RS hood more:

Taking friday off to go get a door and fender.

I've been neglectful again. Stuff moving along and I haven't posted.

Got the legacy all put back together. I've also ordered new tokico struts, top hats, and an ALK. Going to fix the frozen rear toe adjustment as well.

Had it turned out in less than a week after the accident. I am good.

The same day dad put the racecar into the wall at beech ridge. He was ok.

We're looking for a new shell.

Girlfriends cat since the team captain hasn't wanted to be photogenic lately:

Went to the junkyard with Chris yesterday.

I grabbed a subframe and brand new exhaust for the legacy.

xYJaXl.jpg

No idea when I'm gonna put it in.

The motor we had targeted was GONE when we got there. Scouted monday gone before saturday. Damn it I need a SOHC ready because the RS has a nice knock when it's cold. The legacy doesn't sound healthy when it's cold either. I want to have a spare engine ready to go.

Hell I'm even considering a phase 2 2.2 in the race car because I don't need to be going that fast and they're more reliable.

Today dad and I did a thing:

I love how nobody cares about the car, but the cat, now there's some big news in dan's thread.
