The Official MS Bike Talk Thread - motors need not apply

Bradbury is VERY awesome, but a bit of a haul (+/- 30mins from Portland). If we eat our wheaties, we should be able to get a nice loop in starting at 6pm. There is a new ranger up there, and I don't know how stringent he is about closing the gate at dark.

SoPo/Cape, Urban, Prides, Congin are other options. Tough to be BBury, though
Yeah the drive is a bit much. I am in Portland anything around here is cool by me.. I like the river trails too? I know some people are not big fans of them. I am open... Just let me know.

Wednesday's looking like thunderbumpers in the afternoon/evening

Alternative plans necessary?

I'm thinking of trying to squeeze in a urban between the boomers. Close to home with plenty of places to take cover. Any interest?

Time? I like the idea of Urban, since 1. I have not done 2. I can ride there opposed to drive there. Where are we meeting?

We usually leave from Payson park, but we can also leave from the Deering High lot. That might be more convenient for you and Jim. 5:45?

5:45 deering works for me... If it does not, I will post tomorrow. I am trying to get a few others to ride. Average riders like myself..

Is Deering the one down on Park St? Not that i'll make it tonite anyway. I should've planned ahead and tossed the bike on the roof before leaving this morning.

Deering is on Stevens. Take Brighton then right on Stevens..

I think they were talking about Wednesday ride??????????? Cause I can not ride tonight

Ahh, ok. That's definately a drive for me to get out there. A bit far on the mountain bike. So this is for tomorrow then? I could be in if I bring my shitte into work.

I think so. Yeah, I would not ride over. At least for me, that is a bit of road, 3-4 miles. Not fun... Too bad there wasn't a dirt trail..

Wednesday at 5:45 at the Deering High lot. Deering is at 370 Stevens, and the lot I am thinking of is behind it on Ludlow St. If the lot is full (or parking is verboten during the week), you should be able to park on Marlow or Caldwell just past the entrance on the left.

MB- if you want to do a Frischkorn impression, you can ride the MTB to work and dump your stuff at my place on the way to the ride. That would be epic.

There is some road on this loop as we link up the trails, but it's still pretty fun.

I could do the Frischkorn and ride the 'cross bike on the whole event. HAha! Not. I'll just drive over.

Speaking of Le Tour... is that Al Troutwig replacement dude obnoxious or what? I wish they'd show some bike racing rather than BS commentary, GarminChipolte & Columbia team rosters, and that f*cking boring ass Saab commercial... "we take exhaust... and recycle it". WTF. Like they're doing anything special... brilliant marketing because crunchy granolas probably think they're getting a "green" car when any f'ing turbo does the same damn thing.

sorry for the TDF rant.

Brought the bike & the gear. Good to go!

I see the lot on Ludlow St. on Googlemaps. If that one is packed, i've seen people parked (for the playground) in the big lot down at the other end of the school. See you at 5:45p.

Some of us cable-deprived folks have to follow the VeloNews Java updates online. It's either that or the craptacular NBC highlights...

Nice to see that former MTBer Cadel Evans got the Armstrong endorsement. Hopefully that won't be the kiss of death.

See you guys tonight!

I will ride over, unless my buddy wants to just drive. I will be on the look out..

It is hot... Yesterday was tough riding, good thing I only went for an hour..

Well this is awesome. I've scratched my right eye. No riding for me today as a result.

Note to self: when camping, even though it's a PITA, wash hands thoroughly before handling contact lenses. If you don't, you'll end up working dirt into your eye and scratching your cornea.

Ouch. Hope it is not perm. damage... :BangHead:
