the Toyobaru...it's ALIVE!!!

On the toyobaru forum (yes, such thing exists already) they have really detailed pics of the engine in and out of the car. No power steering pump, so it has to be electric.

Our district rep says this is all subaru except the direct injection. Made in a Subaru plant, all of them. Its so much Subaru they are only sending one tech per dealer to BRZ training. All the guts are the same as the 2011+ Forester and 2012+ Imprezas. Old news for subaru techs. WTFisthiscrap for Toyota and Scion techs.

Pedro, I'm guessing the Yota ver. has not arrived at Emerson, yet. Evil rumor mill. Suppose to have the Scion ver. first, then Toyota, then Subaru whenever they get here.

I think us is scion and Subaru versions according to the interwebs. Can't freaking wait.

I havnt seen anything at prime yet. There pushing there new smart car the scion iq. Which is so small it barely fits on a lift and if the tires are removed from one axle a prop rod must be placed on the opposing end or it'll backflip off the lift. Direct from scion training boys and girls. Lol

LMAO You could always just pick it up and put it back on the lift. I'm betting my bike weighs more than that. I would guarantee that my old man's does. His is 800 lbs dry. It's huge.

Boxer3main would not like this car. Primarily due to the fact that the engine has FIVE main bearings, not THREE like the beloved ea82.

Secondarily because it doesn't have two timing belts that like to snap at random when you're in the middle of nowhere.

BRZ is poised put serious hurt on Miata sales. You can carry 4 race tires in a BRZ, or two passengers in back, and it has a hard top.....no silly "yardstick rule" or roll bar needed for AX or RallyX duty.

Yaaay! Serious drooling @ Chez Nigel, waiting for my buddy Mark to get a BRZ demo in up at Stanley Subaru. Been offered an early test, yum!

I agree and disagree at the same time about the Miata comment. Right now the BRZ is not a convertable, and the Miata is. I think that a lot of NEW Miata's are bought because they are a great weekend, fair weather fun car. Not specificly for the motorsports perks. But it definitly is competition.

spotted the first BRZ in New England today. It was at Subaru of New England, Norwood, MA
