The unofficial GUN talk thread

I'll find you some .25 Wzrd.  Eventually.

smelt, I have to back out of the range day.  Must work on cars.  Stuff is getting backed up.
No problem, I worked on my brandy new to me beadblast cabinet today (Ill be Duracoating soon now), my arm is so sore now.... Im thinking shooting big rifles might not be good yet...

I bet my uncle has some .25 in his shop.... Ill give him a call tomorrow. Not sure how much it would be, but hes usually cheaper than everybody.

I can get them. Night sights run in the area of $100, at that price I don't keep them just laying around. Plus there are too many choices. It's a personal preference. Other options are available besides night sights. I do have a set of Glock factory adjustable sights.

I will install them for free with purchase of trigger work.

Hard at it prepping Glock trigger parts... And drinking beer.

Anyone want any parts or sights? I'm placing an order for parts including 2 sets of night sights. I can add more if anyone wants some installed.

Sorry Nate.  Im still broke but all that is at the forefront of my need to do stuff as well as obtaining more ammo.

That's ok man...  Come on over when you can.

I just ordered over $400 worth of parts. Got some major work coming this week.  2 Gen4 Glocks with full parts swap, triggers, and night sights.

FYI

Cabelas has a few hundred boxes of Herters 223 steel case and Herters 308 steel case and 30 or so boxes of Herters brass 45acp.

They had 8 or so boxes of aluminum cased 45 also, same price, same Herters.  I grabbed some, then put it down once I found the "select' brass.  Bastids.  They put it right at eye level, I got somewhat excited, then got mad once I found the brass stuff on the bottom shelf at the end of the isle.

Nate have you been in the new Maine Tactical?  Pretty snazzy place.  He ordered me another Kahr mag.  He's got sick deals on the nice PW Korean Glock mags.  I've had good luck my KCI Korean mags.  $13 something per mag.

Yeah my gen4 needs the sight moved and a nicer trigger at least.  Night sites will have to wait until I can try a couple different ones.  I will miss the Glock dot in the "U"

I like the factory Glock sights.

I paid 8 for my kci. They work flawless , I bought my keltec su.22 from mainetactical but didn't seem to want help with getting me mags scope so went online and got them , his loss I'm sure I got them cheaper anyway

I paid 10 for my KCIs from Up in Arms, but they've disappeared.  I thought 13 for the PWs was reasonable.  Especially since I saw them at Maine Military Supply for $35.  Fricken crooks!  They had the brown bag Koreans for $35 and the Glocks for $32, so I got a Glock mag out of spite.

I have broke one of the KCIs.  Base plate cracked off the corner when dropped.  It still works, just that corner is gone.  All the Glock mags are still in one piece.

Glock mags are much better quality but I only use the Korean ones for range only .i carry with glock mags. 35 bucks ?! Wow profit much

I chose to stick to Glock factory mags only. I beat the snot out of them in classes. Repeated reload drills flicking them on to concrete, and the Glock mags scream for more. I have like 9 or 10 Glock 17 mags already.

If you love the Glock factory sight so much, I can change your rear one for a factory metal one for better reliability. That's cheaper. I think under $20.

And yes I've been down to Maine Tactical. I know Mark personally. Decent guy. Little bit of a air head though when it comes to business. I think my buddy is still waiting on a set of night sights he was gonna order him. That was 2 years ago. Haha.

Anybody here played with a Taurus Protector 38+P??  I just picked one up last night, not really sure why, trade was VERY heavily in my favor I guess. He paid $415 for it new 3 weeks ago, its some Zombie Killer special or something, its a snubbie white polymer 5 shot revolver with neon green grips and a set of black ones in the box. Oh yeah, has a neon green fiber optic front sight too. One 20 rd box thru it... I don't even want to pay for a box of .38 ammo, but I guess I need to try it out.. my uncle just got a Chinese SKS in, maybe Ill trade it for that... stupid rifles used to cost me $69 in the cosmoline

You lost me at: Taurus... Not a huge fan of their products, but a big fan of snub nose revolvers!  Nice buy.

Little flashy for my taste. Maybe swapping the grips to black could tone it down. Or, maybe I just don't like the current trend of making firearms look like toys. I understand from a marketing standpoint why companies are putting out stuff like this.  It just drives me nuts.  These aren't toys, please stop making them look like it.

Good little gun to shove in a glove box or backpack though.  Or backup carry second gun.  I have a Smith & Wesson 442 on its way as we speak.  I have a couple different holster options already.  One leather, and one Kydex.  I plan to carry the bad boy when it gets here. I also ordered some VZ Grips, and a full Apex trigger kit.  And stones and polishing tools to do a full trigger workup on it.  Can't wait for it to show.

I say get some ammo and shoot the thing!  Get used to the heavy double action pull.
