within 20 hours of the crash i found my car, towed it 100 miles myself with my fathers pickup truck

got it home and stripped it down to this

doesn't look to bad from that angle, ended up pulling my radiator out from a shattered timing belt cover. the timing belt cover i bought and installed when i first put the car on the road in june

anyway, my day couldve gone better. but it couldve gone much worse

and hey nigel, does this make me closer to fill fulling my dream "rally inspired" WRX?

P.S. i saw your car at NEFR, i think that rally is the most amazing thing on the face of the planet. and your a total B'dass

ouch....looks like itll need everything from the fenders forward??? looks like that core support is all jacked up....

yeah that radiator support is going to be the worst part. the center column was lifted and tore off the bottom cross member due to rust. i think i can bang that down and patch it. im going to buy the driver side headlight support. with that i should be able to straighten everything else out

do you have a port-a-power to help straighten out mangled stuff up front. if not, I think u can rent one at autozone or napa or whatever.

after a heavy shunt like tht, check the wheelbase. if it's not same side to side, you need to find out why not. on the good side, the front control arms are designed to bend before the hard mount points do

it would suck to do all the front bodywork only to find that the shell is tweaked.

like everyone else has said, it could have been much worse...you could have been seriously hurt, and since your not, then what happened wasn't the worst. Hopefully the rebuild won't take too long and you can have your toy back on the road again!

You can't fix dead. Plus car bill probly cheaper than hospital these days (still paying off my daughters birth). I got a dual core cx racing all aluminum radiator on ebay for $100 last year...worth checking into if $ factor

At least its a 2002, and aside from the fenders, you can probably get everything else from a trashed outback sport or regular impreza. Not that a wrecked WRX should be hard to find, but Im sure there are no shortage of 2002 impreza parts on the market.
