what type of oil?

You can test the PCV valve with your mouth. Mine was sticking. They're stupid cheap to replace, which is a lot coming from my cheap ass.

i swapped out my pcv...literally took 2 minutes.....and i payed like 5 bucks for it......gone 1k since the lof and hasnt burned any oil.....

Yah.... And you blew a motor???
I run Rotella too though. I better not blow anything up.
T6? Even during the winter? you don't switch to german castrol 0w-30 ? I'm on a stock STi, I'm just wondering what other people in Maine use for the winter. I used Rotella during the summer

Changing to Rotella 5w40 shouldn't effect anything, even in the winter. The "5" represents the viscosity at 32 degrees. That doesn't change from factory recommended oil (5w30). I only changed to a "40" from a "30" (which represents the viscosity of the oil at operating temp). I find keeping the oil a little thicker when hot keeps me from blowing it by under higher boost. It doesn't stop it, but it slows down my slight oil consumption. I consume a quart+ per oil 2500.

Im with ryan im currently using Rotella T 10w40, previously was using Motul, but they stopped carrying it at Evergreen.
^^ Rotella 5/40
Rotella T 5w-40 is synthetic

I searched around the forums( Nasioc, clubwrx, IWSTi,etc..)and an oil forum and it seems the Rotell T-6 is pretty popular for turbo Subies and has a good price it's going to be my choice since the oil has to be changed every 3750 miles anyways if not I'd run BND's blend for my car but the cost is to much to be dropping it that frequent(the oil is good for like 15-17K miles and their filter.

I actually have been very loyal with Mobil 1 in all of my cars and motorcycles however, with my 2009 Impreza 2.5i I used Pennzoil Platinum fill synthetic. I now have a 2007 Impreza 2.5i and I will be changing the oil shortly and getting it on the same Pennzoil oil.
