'04 Forester XT!!

Still nothing installed. But the summer wheels have been traded for a different setup. I'll get pics one of these days. I REALLY want to get what needs to be done, done before I have no time to do it.

Well I went too long without starting this and now the battery is not happy. It's a 9 year old Optima red top. I think it'll come out of it after it gets run a bunch. Finally registered it today, so I plan on driving it tomorrow to work.

It's not going to snow anymore... may as well. haha.

I'm not going to bother with snow tires on the Legacy this year. If it actually does snow again I have other car.

Battery is good! Had to jump it this morning before work, then after the drive to work it was all good.

Ended up ripping off a mud flap the other day. I guess I backed into a small rock in the driveway where I park for work and it ripped right off the mounting screws with washers. So I have to pull the tire off and put it back on. I was lucky enough to find the mud flap though!

Yeah the older ones got ripped off all the time, but the RA flaps usually hold on well because they are flexible. But when it's only a couple inches off the ground and you pin it against the tire, it doesn't do well!

Pfffft, why rip off mud flaps when you can rip off whole fenders:

Haha awesome. I guess I'm fortunate that didn't happen!! And didn't you do that during an auto-x?! Now that's talent!

Kinda a random question... When you did the 6-speed swap, did you effectivley remove all the subframe spacers? I've only

just read up on This issue with lowered foresters.

Cone + rusty fender bolts + big mudflap = crunched fender

I drove the car the rest of the run. After the run I unbolted the thing, zip tied the bumper, and ran the rest of the day like that.

Nope, kept the stock crossmembers and left the spacers in. But, that means you need to use the stock Forester tranny crossmember, and use an auto Forester driveshaft! Found that out the hard way. There are other configurations that work as well. Like Gabe kept his front crossmember with spacers, but used the STi rear crossmember which meant he could use the STi tranny crossmember and driveshaft.

Summer wheel set up in on. Consists of 05 STi BBS wheels with the use of the 5x100-5x114 spacers. They sit pretty nice. I'll be watching the spacers, I've never used them before, but I'm confident they'll be fine.

Also re-attached my RA flap that got ripped off a while back. I'll get some pics soon, it needs a bath badly!

I'd be interested to see how spacers do. I've heard mixed things about spacers, not just those, but in general.

If they work for you, I'll jump on the 4x140 > 5x100 spacers for my GL. If you can't break them, I sure as hell won't with a tenth of the hp.
