07 2.5i-wagon

Kind of lame, but minor update. Both my front and rear star badges were flaking apart from the inside, so I got an I badge from cwiggin and just the other night I stripped down the rear one and repainted it with my cgm touch up paint and gloss black.

Also re routed my block heater wiring since it was run right over my headers and cracking the casing for the wires

so, I've had exhaust leaks in the same damn place since i put on my uel headers. when i built them, i used some "bargain" flanges from tractor supply, they were about 1/8th or 1/16th thick, and i apparently bent it over torquing it one of the times i had taken them back off. so i went to evergreen last night and bought all new gaskets (manifold to heads and cat pipe) after not being able to get them from advance. some guido behind the counter tried telling me that the manifold gasket was the one i needed for the cat pipe. argued for 5 minutes then said screw it. anyways, vip had a cherry bomb 3 bolt flange that matched perfectly for $16. welded on the new flange, put in new gaskets and she's all better, except on other gasket on the crossover(?) pipe that goes from one head to the other. yet again, napa gaskets blowing right apart. i will NEVER buy exhaust gaskets from napa again after what i've had happen this week

All if it was in an effort to save time and money on initial install, I ended up paying for good stuff in the end

Yeah, I didn't want to skimp myself. All OEM stuff here. Hoping this weekend something can happen.

I didn't get gaskets figure car is pretty new , and I bought that flange you got , getting installed tomorrow

Finally got all subaru gaskets in the exhaust, no leaks. took the light bar off to repaint it, now I don't know if I want to put it back on. Also put the roof basket back on, "because wagon"

Also updated the forester (separate thread, to lazy to find) the radio display wouldn't work, external cd player crapped out. Put in the 06 imp radio from seph and grabbed a din pocket from a parts car the womans family has, buuuut the battery is dead. Fuuuuuuuuu

Repainted my stars badge on my trunk couple weeks ago, did the stars in my cgm touch up paint with a black backing. Then yesterday made a 1/8th" skid plate. Pics tomorrow if I get ambitious

So I forgot to take pictures again, but made a new skid plate out of 3/16 aluminum tread plate, and this stuff is rugged! Like I lifted the front end of a small bulldozer off the ground trying to put the lip in it. i learned purim my first one and this one fits much better. Yay Home made. Also burned ip a grinder trying to cut the stuff, but it gave me a chance to upgrade to a new dewalt

Did something today that I don't think would make any difference,.but tried it anyway. Complete brake fluid change, and it made a huge improvement in pedal feel and response.

Seafoamed today, seemed to make a difference. Also noticed I have another exhaust leak in the header where the crossover pipe meets the piece that goes to the left head. Second time this had happened, might just weld it

Changed my oil today, noticed the drivers side had gasket is starting to weep oil. ffffffuuuuuuuu

Going to need a timing belt next year, i'll likely do head gaskets timing belt and new clutch all at once. If you see this meyagi, pm me a quote for using all subaru parts and you doing the work

Twitched a load of scrap to grimmels in lewiston, after I scaled out and saw the slip I realized I was overweight, like a lot. Didn't even phase this thing. Drove great, stopped good. Now I have most out the money for snow treads

Gave the beast a wash buff and wax earlier, hasn't been that shiny in a long time. Winter mode with 195-65-15 snows on truck bed coated steelies coming soon
