2 updates, $750 later I have head gaskets, timing belt, clutch kit and related things, just trying to find an engine stand to borrow.

And apparently it's going to be a girl!

^ yup. Little sister is 14, I've made sure to target practice when her boyfriend is over

hopefully my kid isn't as bad as her

Thanks! Trying to think of girly names now...

related to thread: all parts and tools and fluids are sitting in my dads garage except clutch alignment tool (helpy helper has) and engine hoist (neighbor has), hopefully this weekend we can bust it out and have the grocery getter mechanically sound for toting the baby around

Still no hg done yet.... Did something recently and can't remember what it was... Last week had ben a blur of double shifts plowing snow >.<

So I thought one of my idler pulleys was going. Kept hearing a funky sound under the hood. Went to change the oil today and had it running with the hood up. Found one of the 4 screws behind the pulley on my new alternator had backed all the way out and was rubbing the pulley. Yay for quality control

Yeah, going to be broke by the time I pay to have them put in, but other than struts and alt this is all that's gone wrong in 93K

that's not bad, subaru really seems to make their stuff to last. I know how you feel about being broke though, ive spent just as much in repairs and general maintenance on my wagon as I did buying it! In 11 months..

Got her back today after diving the womans fathers 91 explorer for 2 days, that sucked. But only 540 for labor to do the head gaskets, timing belt, water pump and clutch Kit. Kept theold flywheel in case someone wanted it to have it lightened

Isn't that more than what I quoted?

I need detailed pics of your header/cat/o2 arrangement.  Building something special.  Something offroad.

If you had done the work you would have seen me header :-P I don't have any pics. Cut the Rex flange back wicked far, weld in new flange, drill a hole on top, weld a bung

So new clutch chatters a bit, but screw it. Made big progress on acquiring my new toy today (96 2Dr blazer) have title, bill of sale got it insured. Or in a brand new battery and it fired within 2 seconds of turning the key. I'll be registering torture, bringing it home next weekend
