To add to the frustration, I found a leak on my header and a CEL came on. It's from the rear o2. The wiring I extended got melted by the exhaust, then grounded the exposed wire and shorted the sensor. This time I won't be cutting up the new sensor. I bought a 3ft sensor wiring extension instead.

Hey Chris, did you end up putting the heat shields on with the header, or did you just leave them exposed? Thanks for the tip about the extender as well. I may purchase one of those as well in prep for my install.

I left the heat shields off the header. They are worthless on a 2.5i. More space for your hands to do oil changes.

It is a bunch of extra heat under your hood though. Personally id use that hi-temp "ceramic" paint you can find at advance, then wrap

I coated it with VHT high heat. I don't wish to heat wrap it though. Sand, salt, and moisture will get caugh in the wrap and rust the header and then the wrap will eventually deteriorate.

Yes, but I need to give the machined face of the rims a quick spray of paint. The inner spokes and rest of the wheel are mint on the paint finish. It's just the fronts that are scratched a little.

17x7.5 +48 offset with 215/45/17 Dunlop Sportmaxx tires.

What did you do with o2 sensors when you did headers?

The front o2 has a bung on the headers and the rear o2 sensor has a bung I had welded in past the secondary cat. You also have to extend the rear o2 sensor wiring by about 3 feet.

What did you do white o2 sensors when you did headers?
