whats your reasoning behind saying that? you think im better off with a high flow air filter for the stock setup instead? the test results for the cai have come up with some goo dnumbers with the right tune and on my svt focus the cai was my fav mod i did it sounded so goodConsidering the items on that list I think you guys are being a bit dramatic.
You can install them all together if you want or separate. The only items that should be handcuffed together are the downpipe and AP. I would skip the cai all together unless Cobb has a specific map for the exact model you have listed.

My car is an 06,Im running a stage 2 set up[cobb] with a cobb sf intake, its the only intake compatible with the cobb ots map.:idk:Car runs great.This.
The Subaru MAF is fairly finicky and very influential on how well your car runs. To my knowledge the nearest ProTuner for Cobb is in Connecticut at EFI Logics. The off the shelf stage 2 map will be a crap shoot if you run an intake other than stock.
I know that your car will obviously run. What I'm saying is that other than the noise, you're not really gaining all that much, if anything, in exchange for skewing your MAF scaling. My car is an 06,Im running a stage 2 set up[cobb] with a cobb sf intake, its the only intake compatible with the cobb ots map.:idk:Car runs great.
Compatible with the New AccessPORTCalibration Name: S tage2 93 MTv102
Latest Calibration Rev: 1.02
Calibration and Map Notes Updated: 9/19/07
Description: Stage 2 for 2006 WRX MT vehicles with STOCK INTAKE
SYSTEM ONLY and a turbo-back exhaust system with high-flow catalytic
converter running 93 or 94 octane.
Hardware Requirements: Otherwise stock vehicle with a STOCK INTAKE
SYSTEM ONLY, tested with a Cobb Tuning turbo-back exhaust system
with high-flow catalytic converter. An equivalent turbo-back exhaust
system could be used. If the turbo-back exhaust system relieves
back-pressure to an excessive point boost creep is possible. If a
lesser flowing turbo-back exhaust system is used then boost targets
may not be achievable. The addition of any other hardware may make
the vehicle perform poorly.
Compatible with the New AccessPORTCalibration Name: Stage2 93 v102
Latest Calibration Rev: 1.02
Calibration and Calibration Notes Updated: 11/18/08
Description: Stage2 93 v102 - Intended for 2008-2009 Subaru Impreza
WRX STI vehicles with STOCK INTAKE SYSTEM, STOCK INTAKE FILTER, and
a catted turbo-back exhaust system with a high-flow catalytic
converter running 93 or 94 octane petrol. Boost Targets: ~19.5psi
peak boost pressure tapering down to ~16.5psi by the 7000 RPM
redline, +/- 0.8psi.
Hardware Requirements: Otherwise stock vehicle with a STOCK INTAKE
SYSTEM & STOCK INTAKE FILTER ONLY, tested with a Cobb Tuning turboback
exhaust system with high-flow catalytic converter. An
equivalent turbo-back exhaust system could be used. If the turboback
exhaust system relieves back-pressure to an excessive point
boost creep is possible. If a lesser flowing turbo-back exhaust
system is used then boost targets may not be achievable. The
addition of any other hardware may make the vehicle perform poorly.
Do you mean short ram? I haven't seen a Cobb intake that runs into the fender?Cobb's CAI is great, never had a MAF issue.Do it all at once, that's a simple 'mod list, IMO.
The words he speaks are very true... I live it and know exactly what it is like.**A Word to the Wise: Never modify a Subaru beyond simple Stage II unless you plan to commit your life to dealing with absurd, tiny details
first liek most dealer performance parts i doubt they really give you the gains that are worth the money and im sure the exhaust still sounds tame like the stock.would advise SPT intake and exhaust, which as Suby approved add-ons head off warranty issues down the line. given your experience with the sticky clutch, are you really up for more adventures with dealers & warranty, etc.
OK, so here's a question in general, NOT aimed at Kristof in particular: how is 300 hp not enough power for a road car?Modding a highly factory-tuned car like the 09 STI offers modest hp gains but gets you into a (very expensive) grey area between "daily driver" and daily tuner." Just ask STIxxx, topdeeni, Nate, etc. If you are dermined to out-do the factory engineers, then go for it...but ya dang well better know wtf you are doing.
in short, are you SURE you are up to the uncertainties of going down this road?
OK, now REALLY /mods rant!
