It was a combination of a lot of things. I've mulled it over a bit and got it mostly sorted so I can (hopefully) avoid doing that in the future. I gotta get me some more practice, being a pavement jockey for so long hasn't helped.

No worries.

Ok, lets try and get some more pics in here. Lets see here, what can I upload now that I am connected at 15mbps! Ha ha ha. I am at my buddies house.

holy crap u got in the ditch dan??

i saw you guys on rt 4 right as u crossed inot turner but i was int he wifes pilot on the way to the airport

Dan, where did you get that strap? It sure did come in handy and I have a feeling that I should have one in my trunk....

um.. i bought the strap at any auto supply store just be sure its HOOKLESS! then i bought the D ring things a Hamilton Marine in Portland. and the ring is used for ships so im sure it will work for towing, and its a lot safer then hooked tow straps witch fly off like a paper clip on a rubberband and dent up nice car.

Ha, I know. I can get a hooked strap at Wally World, but I really don't want to kill someone or God forbid dent my car or bust my windows. Adam (impreza05) has shared some horror stories starring hooked tow straps.

either use the loop end strap with shackles ((the "D-ring thing" mentioned above...or hooks w/retaining clips.

longer is generally better. 15 to 20 feet if you can find one.

I never trust any with hooks, the hook will chafe the nylon over time and sssnap! I've seen the aftermath a couple times and not pretty. Also it's good to throw a blanket, jacket even a floor matt over the strap when tugging just in case. Always keep them clean and dry as well.
