It's cool to see someone giving an older car the love it deserves instead of just letting it degrade further. I bet it's fun to work on as well.

 
No sir! thank you both for the offer though! i ended up not taking apart the ball joint. and just taking the struts out because I was replacing those anyway... that gave me enough room to get the axle out.

effin Toyo Pious.....they have horrible intrusive ABS and trac/stability control. can't shut off either. this car is consistently the worst winter car we have to deal with at the Team O snow drivin skool. (well, not as bad as Mustang GT on summer tires, but close)

I can just imagine what happened...Pious was on yer tail (too close no doubt) you stopped normally, they stomped on the brakes, ABS kicked in (aka "NOO BRAAAAAKES!!!), and they rode right up your tailpipe. Yowtchie!

did the new struts change yer ride height much? looking at your pics, I'd say not much but ya never know until you drive it.

nice looking ripped axle bootie, BTW,. eeew nastiness inside there, eh?

...and that strut top from your air shock....jayzus what that thing ready for R&R or what?

it brought up the front end to about stock spec I'd say. that air strut top has a GIANT air tank. when I cut the wire for the pass side no air came out... when I cut the drivers side...PPPSSSHHHHHHH!!! Scared the CRAP outta me!... alignment def. and I need a new battery... it sat for a while so now every time I turn off the car it wont start again... If I jump it, it works every time.

they weren't even that close... I just don't think she was paying attention. but ya, I stopped for someone turning and then BAM!!! she done hit me in the backside.

a friend of mine said I should get a bumper sticker that reads : "A Catholic Prius touched my backside"

 
ok...so now whats wrong with my "Plague-acy" ???? It wouldn't start... so I took the battery out and put it on a charger it would go from fully charged to not...is it the battery?...put it back in and all it does is click and not turn over....

guess i should try a different battery.

What do you mean fully charged to not? Is it not charging?

I'd try throwing a spare battery at it and see if that fixes the problem. Swap from another car, that spare batter in back of your garage... etc.

 
ya.. the light on the charger will not stay lit... It comes on to say its charged...then goes back out.....so that leads me to believe that it is not charging.

if I jump it... it starts EVERY time.

dear Legwag...your Plague-acy has ..................a pooched battery. it may indeed take a charge but has lost its cold crankin power. giveaway is inconsistent readings whilst on charger.

another chance to apply money! (or a crank starter to front of motor)
