I don't agree with the "Private BBS" thing.. It's open to anyone who wants to join.. It's on the internet.. and you can read the forum without being a member.. so I'd call it a very public forum..

Freedom of speech on Privately owned BBS' are not guaranteed by the Constitution, by ANY means.

They are (usually) governed by " Terms of Use" guidelines that are set up by, and interpreted by, the owner of the bbs'.

There are plenty of tools at NASIOC, they ban at will, and their ToU is a joke.

Try "free speech" there, & if you're not one of The Boys, you'll be shown the door, quick.

As my nick shows, I am factually into old subes, and quickly learned the new. My outcasting at nasioc is like getting cursed for mentioning an 87 subarus rear beaings is nealrly twice as big as a forestor..as if I am trying to sart an argument...with facts (?!). sure enough as a year went by, there was avery common complaint about forestor and rear bearings. I know what you meant by your post. I do not go to nasioc. It is not just freedom of speech, it is freedom of facts lacking that are disturbing..how bout that front fmic with a Bumper DELETE. can you imagine..

anyhow, bbs is easy to get going, I learned a lot with unix chat rooms in the 90s. anybody with resources can step up. Realistic rules, associated with laws are going to be the winners, in the long run. the net is still young.
