Hey everyone,

I haven't been on the forums much lately, but I was wondering if there are any rallyX's or Ice races coming up in the next month or so? I saw there's a weekend rallyX coming up on the 1/15 and 1/16. Anybody know of any other events within an hour or two?

Nothing that I know of besides the Stafford Springs NER event that you mentioned.

Thanks Ty, I'll try to keep my eyes open for anything new then...

Anyone planning on going down for this event? I think I'll be free from work that weekend... I'll have to see what I can dig up for a ride that weekend...

If I make it I'll track you down! I won't know anybody there so I'll be happy to have someone to talk to

NER will be at New England Dragway again this year on Feb. 5th if you don't make one of the days at Stafford.

I believe the Boston BMW club still does ice racing. They don't make it obvious or easy to figure out how to get on the mailing lists, but once you are, they send out weekly anouncments about whether there is going to be an event.

There is another club here in maine that does ice racing but I my impression is that it's more of an oval race than a single car autocross/rallycross course.

And of course, this warm weather does affect whether it is even possible to go out on any lakes.

eh...he said he doesn't care about the lawn....if we do enough there will be some nice berms to rotate off!!!!

don't forget Team O'Neil winter drivin classes....Jan 8, Jan 15, Feb 5, March 5

full day learning skid control with instructor aboard, dealing with understeer/oversteer. in your own everyday driver. skidpad silliness, ice slalom, accident avoidance, threshold braking, hot laps on rally roads in prepped rally car (instructor driving) hint hint, you will have NO fun.

it's not a "1 day rally course" but this IS excellent training to improve your winter rallyX performance.

normal price is $395, special for MS peeps @ $295

pm me for details or check out teamoneil.com

I'm pretty comfortable with car control on snow, although I am thinking about doing one of their rally schools at some point... mainly just looking for somewhere to do some competetive driving... It seems like my luck has been whenever I have free time there is nothing going on!! DOH!!

It's just a lot more fun (and safer) to got head to head with people at an event than just going hunting for dirt roads

I will preface with this: I don't know you and you could be the next comming of Stig Blomqvist, but I doubt it.

Now with that said. Do the course at Tim'Os. This isn't driver's ED crap, it is performance driving on low grip surfaces. It will be well worth your $$$.

I would so love to do this course some day when I have the monies. Get some pro tips, etc. I can drift my car around corners, but not consistently well. It would be nice to be able to talk it through with an instructor.
