RallyX / Ice races

Maciek Przybysz told me about it, i guess him and Kristin were going to be there that day too for a test day? Is the instruction based on the drivers skill level? Im not a beginner by any means, but no where near an expert either.... It also said something about passengers in the back seat, whats that all about?

all students all go thru same sequence of exercises, instructors have leeway to let skilled drivers go a bit hotter once they've shown they can handle it.

back-seat passengers are part of the learning process....couple of good reasons. 1) all students do ride-alongs, you pick up a lot whatching what other drivers do right and wrong, plus picking up on instructor's pointers. 2) having passengers does tend to damp down the "red mist" silliness a bit.

rally team test day is Monday I think, if there are teams testing on Sunday it'll be on a different part of the school's road network.

Rear seat passengers also = better weight distribution = more oversteer

There is the New Meadows Ice Racing Association in Bath. Search nmira.com and or gonzogarage.com check link to nmira forums for up to date messages and news. . Lots of fun race daily drivers to full modded racers, door to door racing speeds depend on ice conditions and track layout. Have taken part in races with sharp hairpins to wide open 110mph plus front stretch . But awd class is street tires only if they still have it and no awd cars if its a street tire Endurance race.

And also side note on driving classes. I know I need more. Anyone on here definately going this year. Even with another kid on the way I could likely scrounge up the fee to go... But I only got brand new grabbers are those ok for the wintersafe? Nigel?

I'll sign up for the school in a few days if there are still spots and my car sale falls through...

New Meadows is something I've wanted to check out for years, thanks for linkies.

Grabbers will be fine for winter safe, tho the scooby club (NESC) specifies dedicated snows only. One beauty of the course is that you train with whatever car and equip you DD in winter.

the quickest way to go would be up rt25 to rt113 and take that all the way to fryeburg, then take rt302 thru the mountians. If you do that, you will be driving right through my town so meeting will be easy.

If I make it I'll track you down! I won't know anybody there so I'll be happy to have someone to talk to

Ok, if you're still going to the rallyX, I'll no longer be with the black Audi. I'll be in a dark blue RS with a big wing and truck bedliner on the sides.
