STi EJ257 short block going in!

Well at least you noticed it now, instead of having the timing belt slip when it's back in your car!!!

She started right up on the first try! So far so good

Haha that it is!!!! I remember my first motor swap. I did it completely on my own, and used a come along attached to an oak plank sitting on pipe staging to haul it out. It was such an awesome feeling when it started right up after I dropped the new one in!!!

It doesn't look much different, but congrats!

I'd be worried about that hose rubbing on the accessory belt.

Looks good as new. Of course now its just better than new now. Glad its up and running. Now the sucky part you have to be good to her for the break in.

I am hedging bets right now. If Ryan were to go to a Dyno he would make

305 awhp and 325 awhp tq on a Mustang Dyno.

^That would be sickkkkkkkkk!

And Nate, that pic was taken without the accessory belt cover on, so no worries

Ah, good stuff.

So if the STI engine gets ~300 on a stock tune, the STI shortblock with your 2.0 heads should make 300 on a "better" tune?

^Yeah stock STi's don't come even close to 300 awhp.

300 would be pretty sick, but I don't think I would be at that with a TD04. Like Phil said, 265 sounds about right.

Never know until it gets dynod

Oh whoops, for some reason I was thinking of Colin McRae's car as a stock STI. In my dreams maybe

.

Just woke when I posted that, yeah, that's it.

i'd put my bet closer to 265whp. NO stock STI makes 300 at the wheels
I am sure he will hit that number. He has a new decent turbo. Heads are in good shape plus all the aftermarket goodies and stuff to support it.

I have seen bone stock sti's with just a downpipe on the car throw down around 290's after getting a protune. You have to think a Stage 2 OTS map from Cobb puts down around 280 at the wheels and that is just a downpipe on the car with a very conservative map flashed to the ECU. So factor in Ryans things plus a really good Protune I belive he can make it happen. So with his injectors, headers, exhaust, and everything else I think he can make it over the 300 hump.
