The unofficial GUN talk thread

yeah that is my guess. so I guess if anyone sees one around let me know.

The Garand is 30.06 correct?

Hi-point firearms...what can I say that's good about a hi-point? Well, bullets do come out of them when you pull the trigger fairly reliably.

that's what all the hype on the interweb is about. Hi-point sucks, Hi-point this and that. Except the owners and shooters of Hi-Points have nothing bad to say about them. Lots of praise actually. And the Hi-Point carbine vs. all the other Carbines say get the Hi-Point or Kel-Tec. "Save yourself tons of money, shoot reliably, any 9mm, .40, or 45acp is only as good as 50 yards out of any carbine."

Trevor, your pictures still don't work.

Try hosting on the web somewhere or right click to get the address and do this (with out spaces) ---> http://www.your picture address Here.com/Wicked cool pic .jpg [ /IMG]

Pedro, an old High School buddy of mine restores the M1 Garands (and other vintage US rifles) if you ever wanted to do a resto on one of the gems. They come out gorgeous. CHeck out Bunker Armory, its on my Facebook somewhere. He's moving back to Maine this week. The Civilian Marksmanship Program has now released a shi7on of Garands and M1 carbines that have been in the Us Army's arsenal for decades. Its worth looking into, otherwise you'll have to comb the countryside to find a half decent Garand for reasonable money. Also, Springfield had been doing replicas for a while, those are very nice, around $1000+ Not too shabby if you ask me. Some commemorative models for 1200+

I'm super excited for hunting season this year. I couldn't go at all last year since I was in Utah.

Some of my guns include

10/22

Ruger 270

Remington 870

Over-under 20 gauge/223

Really old Ruger 22 revolver

Thought about it. Haven't hunted in a few years. I like the hunt. Not the cold so much. Don't like the hassle of processing afterwards. I like naps in the woods on a warm afternoon. I like it when everything comes together before my eyes and the big daddy stomps right in front of me unaware I exist. Its over in less than a second, usually. I'm pretty lazy when it comes to hunting. I've got pretty easy too. Walk out from the house around 7am, guttin and draggin by lunch. The big ones circle thru my property twice a day. If I scare them off in the morning, I go back out at 2pm and wait for them to come back thru.

The best of everything right there!

i hunt up at my dads in fairfield...nothing like getting up at 4am to be there by 5am and in the woods shortly after... he takes a deer every year including two monsters several years back...265 boon and crocket and a fat 232....its very wooded so i stick to the 30-30...my dad had it new back in the 60's....

I want to go hunting this year. It's been a few years for me as well. Although I'd much rather go bow hunting again, that is so much more of a rush than hunting with a gun!!!

I cant hunt at my place. neighbors WAY to close.

So usually have to go onto wildlife management area... I have found a few people who might let me hunt on their property but the dont see that much deer on a regular basis...

When I go stalking I bring the 1in 1894(30-30)

If I am staying put I use the rem 700(.243)

S&W 686 (.357) as a side arm.

Squirrel- 10/22

moose -rem mod 8 (.35 rem)

Zombies. rem 870. (12 ga)

Trevor I recognize that place

Good luck let us know how it goes.

Did some silhouette shooting with the 10/22t many chicken, pigs, turkeys and rams were felled.

Found a big difference in ammo.

shot aguillia and federal. I had shot 500+ rounds without any issues then got atleast 3 FTE's in two 25 rnd mags of federal bulk.
