got it for nothing it's a pretty basic scope deff not something I'll be keeping almost seems like a "toy" not even sure I'll use it yet

Ill try to post up some pictures later, but my AR build is for the most part done. Shot about 300 rounds through it the past two weekends and I love it. I had never shot an AR platform before this but I definitely dont regret trying before buying. As it sits my rifle is a:
- Spikes Tactical ST15 lower receiver (with the red and white paint)
-Windham Weaponry collapsable stock
-not sure about trigger group or grip.
-Windham Weaponry 16" optics ready upper receiver
-Magpul MBUS sights
Future addiction additions will be:
-some sort of red dot sight
-Magpul grip w/ storage
-Railed forend
-Magpul angled front grip
-Flashlight mount
-Possibly a bi-pod
-Buttstock w/storage
... I guess my build isn't even close to done

I saw someone else's AR blow up today in Fryeburg. We think it fired out of battery (pin strike before bolt was locked up). Good thing it wasn't a Bushmaster Carbon or that guy would have been missing fingers. His DPMS cracked the lower receiver, lower receiver was all bulged out, busted the bolt release, slammed the bolt back so hard it couldn't be moved again, and forcefully ejected and shattered a Beta mag on to the shooting bench, and who knows what else was busted. I suspect the entire gun is junk now. His fingers are probably still stinging a bit.
One in 10 million semi-auto and Full auto rifles will fire out of battery. You're more likely to be hit by lightning. But there are things you can do to prevent it and those things are easy to take care of on an AR.
Clean and lube. Clean and lube, Clean and lube. Especially the firing pin, bolt, and carrier. If your firing pin gets stuck in the forward position it could hit the primer as its trying to shove a bullet into the chamber and discharge a bullet before your bolt is locked up. that's when bad things happen. If you're not sure how to disassemble your carrier and bolt or you're uncomfortable with doing that let us know here on this forum, or search YouTube, or ask the guy at your gun shop. The gun guys are always willing to help the gun guys. Also, the guy at Maine Tactical does a cleaning and light mod class once in awhile. Its worth knowing the ins and out of your firearm..

also if anyone cares, i bought a remora iwb holster, been wearing it pretty much 24/7 have to say amazing how will this feels. and stays put, with no belt, in out of cars running around it dont move. drawing the weapon it stays put for the money this is a great concealed iwb holster..
are thes nickel boron coated carriers worth the money? read into it they seem to be easyer to clean and no lube is needed

I think those have a life span on the material/ coating. My son's AR has a hammer, sear, coated combo and it is smoother. But, it does say it doesn't last forever, probably longer than I'll ever wear it out. If I shot about twice as much as I do and was wicked serious about competition I'd consider one of those carriers, but I'd still lightly lube it and check the firing pin once in awhile just to make sure not debris is in there.
Glad you found a nice combo for your Taurus. There are good reviews on the net for the Remora stuff. I'm still looking into IWB for my Kahr. Thinking about an Old Faithful IWB, similar to Crossbreed. My issue is what I do for work. Eventually I'd be in a spot where I'd be laying on you-know-what under someone's dash. An ankle device would be more practical for me but ankle draw takes an hour and half and the print is obvious or out of the ordinary noticeable. Decisions decisions.
Oh yeah, I figured out a good combo for hollow points and my Kahr. Hornady Custom 185gr JHP. All hiccups gone. It measured out smaller diam. than the Fiocchi so my guess is any good quality stuff (Black Hills, Hornady, Remington, Winchester, ect) will work well.
Another note. I had mag/ammo/feeding problems in my 9mm when using the Winchester white box stuff at the match last weekend. Approx 1 out of 8 rounds is a tad longer than the others and hung up inside the mag. The nose would drag on the front of the mag causing the round to tilt rim first messing up every thing below it. Every other brand I measured was a couple hundreths shorter than a lot of the Winchester white box stuff.

Also would like to ad that IWB holsters are the way to go IMO. Unless your gun is huge lol. But i can fit my 3" 44sp in an IWB and you cant tell. I want to get a super tuck but they are expensive.

I know its not the for sale thread,but it fits better here. I have a 1985 Encom America MP-45. Looks like a Tec-9,only a .45acp. They made them in 1985 only,before the GA fun gun companies were shut down by the govt and their laws. They will take a standard military grease gun mag with a tiny bit of dremeling on the mag catch hole. Threaded shrouded barrel,uses an AR pistol grip. I have the gun,one 35 rd factory eagle stamped mag,plus 4 grease gun mags,from 10 to 30 rds,and a speedloader. Finish is nice,there is very little wear on the slide,I have owned it for years,and put maybe 35 rounds thru it,and honestly,am getting sick of keeping it oiled. Im looking to get my orig investment back. I gave $650 for it,without the mags. $650 firm takes it with them,and a small quantity (40 or 50) of lead SWC .45 rounds to play with. I dont have to sell it,but right now,I could use the $$$ to put into my shop,so I can get some work done.My gunsmith estimated less than 200 rds fired in its life.
Next is a SUPER rare J&R carbine.9mm M38. Its a tiny little thing,lots of fun to shoot.Its like a mini tommy gun,crossed with an mp5 I have seen a painted up junk one on Gunbroker,that went for $775. I would take $800 for this one,and its nice,wood stock and forearm.. 2 30rd mags come with it. Kind of the same deal,I just dont use it enough to justify maintaining it.
Last is my 1928 Thompson .45ACP. First,it needs a bolt to be correct. It will fire as is,but the slot that retains the extractor is messed up. This happened a couple years after I got it,at round # (approx) 150. This is the deluxe model,Presentation grade walnut,removable stock,double pistol grips,iron receiver. I have the optional hard case,the fitted violin case,a 30rd stick mag,and a 50rd drum. Has the Cutts compensator,finned barrel. This thing is AWESOME looking! I bought it new from the factory.I have just over $1900 in this thing at my cost from my uncle. The bolt will cost roughly $150. At this point,I will take $1300 for it as it is. It has hung over my bar for the last 5 years,Id like to see somebody use it,but it doesn't hurt my feelings to keep this one either. Ill post pics as soon as I find my camera.
