The unofficial GUN talk thread

Picked up a second Remington 870 on the cheap from a guy needing some cash. I went a head and reworked it in the same fashion I did mine. Mine is just black. This one is for my girlfriend. I gave her my 18" smooth bore barrel, I'm in the process of shortening a spare vent rib barrel to 18". Then I'm drilling and tapping a rail on my receiver receiver for a reflex sight. I'll post pictures when mine is back together.

All that said, I have a couple sets of Remington wood furniture up for grabs. (Real wood, not the laminate they use now). I also have an ATI over folder/pistol grip stock and ATI fore grip for sale.

Wood furniture is available for a few beers. The ATI, was expensive and never used, but to the right fellow I could let that go fairly cheap (and beer)

That stock one looks just like the 870 I just got... mines a 20 gauge, but I kind of have the same plans for it, just because I can.  The tactical setup you did looks great!

Yah it's a good recipe.. Magpul furniture (love the ergonomics on their shotgun stuff), Wilson Combat extension tube, Wilson Combat big button safety, and short barrel of your choice. I also added Magpul's single point sling attachment. I'll be running one of these guns soon at a training day.

The Magpul is adjustable for length and heights also. It comes with 4 more spacers to add LOP, and the cheek risers are sold separately.

I love my magpul furniture, also have sling attachment point but no sling. Only thing I'd change is bring the forend back closer to the receiver. But it feels amazing with that setup and 21" barrel.

On a side note, a guy I work with had recently started buying a bunch of guns, today showed a video of dry firing his xd against his head. People like him are the reason tragic accidents happen

Tell him theres nothing cool about being a vegetable.  My wife has seen soooo many attempted suicides gone wrong and gun 'accidents.'  Theres a 50% chance of surviving.  More than most people think for a gun shot wound at very close range.  Tell him inski says don't be a dumb fudge!

Anyway,  I'm contemplating the ATI Akita or the Magpul stock and Hogue pump handle for my 870.  I absolutely love the Akita on my semi-auto CZ, but it might be a totally different fit on the 870.  Also, I love the fiber optic on the CZ.  Eventually there will be one on the 870.

For Sale:  My son is selling his CZ-82 pistol with 2 mags.  He's got a ton of 9x18 hollow points and practice ammo for it.  He'll probably do a Mossberg 500 or Remington 870 trade.

Got my ATF tax stamp back...pictures to follow.
Very nice.   Id love to do one sometime...

Anyone familiar with saiga 12s? I'm moving some firearms around and it is on my list of guns to check out.
I have one, partially customized.  So far I have the quad rail, forward grip, 20 and 28 rd drum mags, light and laser mounted.  Im doing the trigger conversion soon.  If you're ever in the Litchfield area, come check it out.   Its my favorite shotgun so far, and I've had 2 SPAS 12's....  the spas is fun, and probably more useful in a true tactical situation (a quick switch to pump and any ammo will run), but 20 rds of 00 buck would more than mess anything up that's in front of you..... plus it feels like an AK.

Thanks for the info. Looks like the deal fell through anyways, at least I assume since the person that was interested stopped replying.

I'm trying to trade this:

G22 RTF and G23

For a fun rifle/shotgun to shoot. I'm really more of a rifle guy, that's just what I enjoy shooting. Looking for an AK, Sig 556, Saiga 12, Benelli just those interesting fun guns to shoot in common calibers. I already have an AR, so something to compliment that is always nice.

If those were .45s Id be VERY interested..   I have lots of stuff to put thru .45s..    In that kind of range though, I do have a J&R m68 9mm carbine...  its a really cool rifle, VERY small.. its a lot of fun to shoot, not sure if you are interested in anything like that?  Its not really an assault rifle, I would say its almost a younger cousin to a tommy gun, really nice wood, metal is near mint..  Theres a shoddy looking one on gunbroker or $895 with no ammo, it has a cheap skeleton stock, and only one mag, I have 2 30 rounders with mine..   no big deal if its nothing youd want, just thought Id throw it out there.  it looks just like this:

Muddy, how much Critical Duty do you have?  Sell separate?

Just added some grip tape to my g34 and 1911.  Wow! What a positive difference.
