Try Maine Military, they have them for $100 most of the time.

Don't bother with kittery or cabelas, as they seem to think Mosin's are made of gold, and will be all too happy to lube you up and take you for a ride if you have money in your wallet...

I've bought a few online, but it's a pain in the rear. You need to transfer it to an FFL and pick it up there and fill out your paperwork upon pickup. Not to mention most FFL's are going to charge you $50-100 just for doing the paperwork.

If you really can't find one local for cheap, try

J&G Sales

Atlantic Firearms

All of the above are good to deal with and helpful over the phone

Pedro, let me know how that goes. Online prices are pretty attractive. I think all you need is to find a local FFL (another lic. firearms dealer) to do all the paper work, pay that guy $25-ish, pay seller the purchase price and shipping and you're all set.

NICE! You win.

I used to polish those when I had "extra duty" during my first enlistment. Some Brass-O will make that VERY shiny mirror brass.

 
Here's a Mosin Nagant 91/30 I rebuilt for a friend. It is dated 1942 and a Izhevsk Manufacture.

It was pretty rough when I got it from him, barrel and action was spray painted and stock was full of dings and very dark and covered with cosmoline.

I stripped all the metal parts and completely reblued it, and stripped the wood, cleaned all the oil out of it and steamed the dings, then 8 coats of poly.

And some AK furniture that I got from APEX for $12 and stripped/refinished.

They sometimes have surplus furniture and sell it for pennies. I saw this Romanian set and had to get it. It was very dark when I got it, but I already have a few AK's with dark wood, so I decided to go blonde

Wow! That Mosin looks like a collector piece now! The blue looks great offset by the polished bolt. The shiny brass is a big bonus.

Just as a reminder. This IS on Superbowl Sunday. I dont know how many of you care. I do plan on trying to get to NH in the mid morning. So hopefully after spending a couple hours there, then driving home, you will be home for the game anyway. It may be our best bet for getting in a group of us anyway on a weekend.
