The unofficial GUN talk thread

Sad. I grew up in Falmouth. Did a few shoots with Pops there back in the 80s. 2 years ago I was there for a Cowboy action shoot. That was my last visit at Falmouth.

Androscoggin is accepting Falmouth members at the renewal rate. I read it in the meeting minutes posted.

So.. Finished product. Kicks less then .223 now.

Next step is to visit my welder. Plans are new extended/bent bolt, and D-ring on the hammer for the safety. Then shoot, shoot, and more shooting.

Yah I think so. Need to take it out and bench test it to be sure. I can not believe how little this gun kicks now though. I couldn't put 20 rounds through it before in one sitting.

That bolt almost looks like it would be long enough if you were to heat and bend it. Straight bolt would drive me nuts ( which I imagine is the reason you mentioned adjusting it)

It's not so much the length that's the problem(although it IS too short). It's the fact that it's straight that's not so optimal. With the bolt back (uncocked) it's in a straight upright position. It's just not the best stroke.

And it figures. Wear the lc9 iwb all the way home, marvel at how comfy it rides, and the woman flips her lid saying she doesn't want me to carry it tonight when we go to the durrty lew (no offense lewiston rezidents)

This thread seems to have gone dead last few days. On the bright side, I may actually have something good to contribute now I have the lc9 and recently had a sr9c. If anyone is considering either of these 2 I have some decent input

sr9c pros: striker fired, trigger was nice and smooth and predictable. Field stripped nice. Loaded chamber indicator is nice. Cons: big as a medium glock. Was too thick and bulky for concealed carry. Ambidexterous safety would get kicked on and off from my shirt catching it. I don't know if it was me orr the gun but I could hardly hit anything with it.

Lc9 pros: small, conceals really nice ( shorts and t-shirt nice) really accurate for its size. Safety can be removev from the gun completely without negative effect ( trigger pull is long enough you have to really mean it to get it too go off, and I leave it off while carrying) only cons so far are that it's hard to take apart beyond a basic field strip and they come with a magazine disconnect ( mine was removed) and the lc9 is also $100 cheaper than the sr9c.

I could never get used to actually shooting one of those true concealment guns like the lil LCs. Just too small and awkward for me. I do like the single stacks, the mediums and full sizes. Wish I had the money for a (new) Ruger 1911 or Springfield 1911.

I didn't think I could shoot the lc9 either, hell I'm better with that than I was my full size glock. I'll let you try it sometome. And the new ruger 1911 looks nice

I love my glock not bIg on those lil compacts I have fat hands lol trying find a comfortable conceal hosted tho

I used a paddle holster for my glock 22. Only good for colder weather when you can layer over it. nate may be able to steer you in the right direction

Would anyone have any interest in buying a jennings j22 pocket pistol? A coworker is trying to sell his, I'm taking it in for cleaning and test firing. No pics, but I'm getting it tomorrow. Text or call 8909218 if anyone has interest
