The unofficial GUN talk thread

Looks like fun out there guys!

Thanks for the brass! I'm gonna try some 124gr hollows first.

John, I've never ever seen the camo ver.

That Tec 9 was GANGSTA!!! It even says in the owners manual: "For close range shooting, fire from the hip." Haha.

You should see my ak when I bump fire it. I have a hair trigger on it, it spits rounds fast. My 40 round clip can go in like 3sec.

Nice new toy btw Nate I like. I thought about getting a stagg arms m3 . I miss my old AR-15.

Yah I scored a good deal on it. This S&W (quality gun) came all decked out in magpul gear from the factory and was only $100 more then the Stag I was looking at. After my purchase, the price jumped up. I got his last one at that price.

Perhaps a mainely shooting meet at my house some time in the future? No regulations on what guns you can and can't shoot

Nate, looks like you're ready for three gun competition.

http://maine3gun.org/

go to the forums and ask about stuff. The season has begun. You'll see some of my old posts. I was going to do it this season until EG pulled the rug out from my paycheck.

Before anybody flames me, that magazine is not all the way in! And I will concede, it's not as cool as Nate's.

Mine is just a little .22 step-child, twice removed from the family. Picked up the rifle today. I called all the shops I could think of, and nobody had a camo one. I've had the pistol for a few weeks.

Oh, and I-wagon, Howell's had one for cheaper. But for me, It's a further drive and add the sales tax.

Nate, That'd be cool. Maybe Dawn and I could come down some Sunday, send her shopping, and you and I could pop some caps.

Hrmmm. I might have to check that out tomorrow. I'd really like a 22 rifle like that.

check the Ruger SR-22. it has all of the reliability of the 10-22 and the AR looks you are after.

plus it takes the 10-22 mags and pretty much any other accessory you want.

Some of the things I really liked about the Smith....

It comes with sights, many do not.

Lots o' rail space.

I like the "look" of the 25 round mag,vs the flush look of the Ruger. More like an AR.

Many, if not all, of the AR accessories(stocks, grips) fit. I think.

I thought about the Ruger, Mossberg, Remington VTR. I thought about a 10/22 and then getting a stock. But that would need sights of some sort. The cost of a new 10/22, aftermarket stock, sights came to the same money as the Smith, or the SR22.

Cote's had a camo Remington VTR, but it doesn't have the aftermarket support.

Little update on my mosin nagant scout rifle build. Finally finished up the bolt for the gun. I wanted to get rid of the straight bolt, but wasn't a fan of the typical "bent bolts" that are readily available. Instead I decided to buy the ATI bolt that is supposed to be filled and tapped on to the bolt, and I had it welded on. After a lot of grinding and smoothing this if the finish product.
