'04 Forester XT!!

I inquired about the progress on my DCCDPro tonight. I simply asked if it had gone out yet, and if I would receive a tracking number when it went out and I was looking forward to getting it. After just a few minutes I received an e mail saying that they were going to upgrade the shipping so that it would reach me faster!! Definitely some great customer service!! So hopefully a little over a week it will get to me, which should give plenty of time to get installed before the group drive.

Yep, that's who I am talking with. After only a few emails exchanged, I am very impressed!

Sounds good to me! If you send me the link about installing it, or whatever I can read up so I know wtf I'm supposed to do. haha.

According to that, it's for off road use only. I guess it's time to lift and put swampers on the fozzy

That didn't say how to connect the knob and button to the unit... Also, I'll need the wiring diagram (or maybe someone (mike?)) to chime in and say what wire on the DBW plug to use. Other than that, it looks pretty straight forward. Can't be harder than installing a remote start unit in the USM parking lot with a soldering iron powered from an inverter out of my car...

Well I kind of was assuming that there would be plugs to just plug into the factory DCCD switches. I may be wrong. And yeah I guess we have to get the wiring schematic for an 04 FXT to see what wire to tap into on TPS. I'm sure they can be found somewhere on the interwebz

Yea, probably. They could have just said what wire colour ... but that would be too easy. haha. I bet I could find the pin with a multimeter too. They basically want the pin that has that's connected to the pot.

Ya, the wires to the switch are probably obvious. And even if the switch isn't hooked right up the unit probably goes into auto mode by default.

What are you doing about DCCD lights?

Nothing for lights. There will be light in one of the switches to tell me what it is doing/what mode I am in. Yeah would have been nice if they had said what color wire for the TPS. But they did give this: Drive by wire <2006MY = “B136 pin B18”

ya but that doesn't mean anything to me. The connecter that goes to the TB (which I can only assume is for the DBW stuff) only has 6ish wires.

That code sounds like it's locating a pin on the SMJ or ECU... Which would be a great place to tap into, wouldn't have to run another wire through the firewall. But without a wiring diagram I have no idea what that means.

No idea! Lol, that's why I need help with the wiring crap!!! I will do some research and see what I can find out!

Car wiring can be a pain sometimes. I prefer the mechanical end of things.

Also, I have some waterproof shrink tube. When you heat it, it melts and gets all goopy to seal the connection. That would be good for the center diff wires. Wherever the hell they are..

Sweet!! That would be great. They are under the intercooler in a 6 pin plug according to Mikey. Shouldn't be too hard to find seeing how they tell you what color they are

Yea, that's nice of them. I wish they could just effing say what colour the other wire is instead of saying "go find a wiring manual and suck it." But what fun would it be if it was easy

Lol yeah right!! I am trying to get some info from people that have done the install with DBW. I was just told that the hard part is finding the right wire on the ECU. So I'm hoping to get some more info on that.

So that is a cryptic ECU wiring code... I had a feeling. All ECU wires have PITA names like that. Blows to find anything on them.

Since it's an STi ECU, hopefully someone who's done it on an STi has picture or some insight that'll make it easier.

It is an STI ECU but it should be the same on any pre 2006 according to the install instructions.
