'04 Forester XT!!

I was going to say those egt sensor rarely leak and it didnt leak on the car it came off of
Yeah but we had to cut it off to get it to fit between the motor and the framerail. It wanted to go up the exhaust port. But no, it still doesn't leak. But I would still like to remove the rest of it and put the plug in.

Well, I'm going out in a few to try to get things back together a little. I have to get the endlink mount back in one piece, and the LOVING DP is still hitting the crossmember, so I have to figure out something with that. I'm getting tired of working on it.

OK!! So I just welded on a grade 8 washer to replace the broken piece of rear endlink mount. Seems very strong, and actually came out A LOT better than I was expecting. Also welded on an exhaust hanger where there was supposed to be one for my down pipe, so that SHOULD NOT hit anymore! My Harbor Freight welder did a pretty decent job today!! I also installed my Kartboy rear outrigger bushings as well, and have pics of the install. I was asked to do a write up on the install, so I will get to that later. I'm going to go take a test drive and hopefully everything I did, holds up!

AWWWWWW! Great job!!!! Can't wait to hear how the test drive went, and see your write up!!

Well the test went good. There is quite a bit more NVH at certain RPM's. Not sure if that is because the down pipe is mounted solid to the tranny crossmember now, or because of the outrigger bushings. The outrigger bushings make a big difference in tightening up the rear end! Seems a lot more planted now, and no clunks what so ever from that area, so I'm assuming that was it. There was A LOT of play with just the stock bushings in there, and now, there is none at all. So it's all good for now, and I hope it stays that way!

if you welded directly to the tranny cross member that's a big no no there is a reason it is suppose to be hook to the tranny cause the tranny has the same movement as the exhaust where the tranny cross member has no movement so you should be gettin a lot of noise vibrating through the body cause it has no where else to displace it but through the body

I was wondering about that. I don't see anywhere to hook it to the tranny though. What kind of issues will it cause other than some noise?

I did this on my last legacy. It ended up cracking the header flange from all the extra force and vibration on the exhaust system.

I had to pull it all apart and weld it back together.

Yeah I guess I gotta go out and do something about it. It's my only car right now, and I have no time at all to make it to Evergreen to get the actual hanger. I wish it go smoothly at least once when I NEED it to

Took off the hanger, took it for a spin, it still hits. I guess I will have to get one from Evergreen, I just have no idea how I'm going to get it anytime soon. I don't have time to make it down because of work, but I'll at least order it so it's there for me.

EG will ship stuff.

Called and spoke with Candice today. I will have the hanger on Wednesday!! Hope that solves the issue!

Exhaust hanger showed up tonight, and is now installed, and it definitely looks like it will keep the DP away from the crossmember!!

Now there is another issue that has been there for a little while, but I'm not quite sure what it is, and will probably be going to Mikeys this weekend to hopefully figure it out.
