das GL!

Yep! And my belt stopped squealing after being oiled!! haha.

Haven't tried the trim yet. Been busy

Nice!!! Yeah I know you've been busy. Did you notice it running any better with that new hose??

No... It still idles high. I even put a different MAF in the day I did the seatbelts. So I don't know what's up. I should read the CEL and go from there. It may provide some insight. Maybe resetting the ECU? dunno. I had to go to Tish's house this afternoon. So unfortunately I didn't get to go home and work on stuff.

I'll have time though! I'll get it all together

Check to see if by chance that disty moved. If it moved just a bit, it could run great but bump up the idle just a bit. But also try changing that sensor. I have a few other MAF's if you want to try another one as well.

Oh god .... I'd sooner do an EJ swap rather than play with timing... I hate dealing with timing and distributors. I have to deal with it on smaller engines, usually 2 cyl outboards and stuff, and ugh......

So I haven't been on the computer much. I've been working 8+ hour days for the past week, and will be every day for the next 2 weeks. But today during my lunch break I messed with timing and I think I fixed the idle problem. It still idles high when it's cold, but when it warms up it idles between 700 and 1000 rpms. It seems to be random where it idles, but always somewhere in there. No fluctuation, but every time the engine revves down it'll pick some number in there. Whatever, it works.

Now I need to make the legacy run. It runs, but really really awful and no power

I don't know what's up. no CEL either. grrr...

Sunday!!! I get Sunday off of work! The only day until the next Sunday... So I'm hoping that I can get the hitch welded up on the GL and some other stuff done that day. I have a lot of backed up stuff from all the work at the theater!!

Yeah where's my measurements and charger!!!!!! LOL just kidding man. I know you've been busy. Let me know whats up when you get a chance!!! And post pics of the new hitch when you get it done!! After you do that, you are gonna be really wanting an EJ swap, cause that thing is gonna be nutless when towing!! Haha

haha... yea... It's gonna be fun. ej22 would be smexy

That would be absolutely awesome!!!! Do you have any clue how the adapter plate is made?? I have a little bit of an idea, but not exactly. I want to get the pattern, but no one is willing to give it up!!!!

I have a pretty good idea of how it works. There is a pretty good guide/diagram somewhere of how to make one.

It's pretty simple, it's just getting it all lined up right so that you don't eat up pilot bearings and input shaft bearings. People who make their own with just normal tools (ie. not a CNC and fancy metal working tools) often end up having such problems.

Well most of the guys on USMB that make their own make them with simple tools and have no issues, so I think it's doable. I would just rather make my own than having to pay for one. I will already have to pay for a redrilled flywheel

If I could get plans or something for making one it wouldn't be to bad. I could draft it out on my computer with autocad, print it out on paper. Cutting the metal doesn't have to be overly precise. It's really the holes that make all the difference. But I have a drill press, which makes that easy.

Exactly, as long as the holes are in the right spots!! I will soon have an old junk EA82 motor, and I already have a 5 spd dual range tranny. We can look at both of those and see if we can figure it out.

Cool! Lobster might also still have a junk ej25 we could look at for the EJ side of it.
