das GL!

No updates really. I'm busy as all hell. I've been working 9AM to 10PM most days.

Got off at 5 today, and spend 3 hours working on computers. Quick break for food now and I'm going to spend another few hours doing some woodworking to bring to work tomorrow. Another 9 to 10 day. I have a little time off on Wednesday, so I'm going to pick up some new front tires!

I've been driving the GL around a lot though, it's a great work car. I have all tools and power tools in it. I have the back seat down so I can load it up with wood, I've had 6 sheets of plywood on the roof, etc. Glad my legacy isn't taking the abuse from work.

Well that sucks you are still out straight!! Hope you are getting paid good!! But it's cool that you are getting so much use out of the GL!! Let me know when you get some time!!!!!!

I'd love to have some time. But I'll definitely have time at the end of the month after the show opens before my pending job at Bigelow lab starts. I'm really hoping I get that job... the theater pays awful, I'd be working so much less at the lab and making ridiculously more. Plus I'd be designing computer stuff (software and hardware), which is fun.

Also, they have a strong affiliation with Norway, so I might get to go over there! And the fact that I already fluently speak Norwegian kinda helps...

Nice!! Is that in Boothbay? Definitely let me know when you get some time!! I'm looking forward to getting that R/C car goin!!

yea Boothbay. So a little bit of a long drive from home. But that's what I have the legacy for. I'd be making enough money to compensate for the drive.

I REALLY want some spare time too. My personal computers are falling apart, and my cars need work.

I welded a 2" receiver hitch on today. It was pretty easy. My welds look pretty bad, but strong. But as soon as I put much force on it at all CRACK!! I used the pneumatic cutoff wheel to remove more bumper and the whole rear bumper support is completely rusted out. So I'm gonna get steel on tuesday for a custom rear bumper

dunno about monday. i'll know as it gets closer. i'll definitely post pics though!

My car looks funny without the bumper!! haha

And here's a start for the steel for my bumper, it's gonna meet grinder and welder in a few hours

Yeah unfortunately they all do that, all the road crap catches there. Can't wait to see the new one!!

So I just finishd my badass cool bumper! I'll paint it tomorrow and take some pics. But it's wicked badass cool.

Did you cut all the old rust out, or just build around it?
Definitely want to see it either way

.
All that rust was on the old bumper, so he didn't need to touch it, that's why he built a new bumper

Oooh, now I see it. Figured the picture was looking inside the back of his frame or something.

Amazing that the place the bumper mounts to is so clean comparitively.

So I haven't painted it yet because I can't find POR15 anywhere... but I have it mostly done. There are going to be side plates and thingies around the tail lights to protect them, but here it is!

Not a bad job. That POR stuff it the cats ass. Will def finish off the look. Also I like the idea of cleaning up the edges with some sort of cap. might make it a little safer to walk around next to it anyway. That looks like a shin/knee killer.

Awesome. You're such a Mainer

Curious to see what the tail light guards look like. And that reminds me, I gotta get some POR-15 for my light bar.
