das GL!

Nope, I never grabbed them. Those are the ones I've always had. They are all yours if you want to go get them from him

What kind of issues did you run into? Remember I have that axle puller meant for those older ones.

Welded on a better muffler

I'm making a cool new system for my car that involves an electric motor with reduction gearbox, some random fasteners, steel I'm welding up, 2 relays, a switch, some LEDs, custom contacts, some wire. It's all going under the hood and there'll be a switch and 2 LED's on the dash.

Anyone guess what it's gonna be?

like a muffler bypass valve? nope

I also need to find a single (or double, doesn't matter) pole double throw switch that automatically springs back to the middle. Radio shack doesn't have them

I'm probably going to get the switch from Lewis marine because my dad gets like a 25% discount through work, and I wouldn't have to pay shipping

Fortunately radio shack does have DPDT relays, I only had one.

So this little projecty of mine has sorta hit the back burner :/ I spent a lot of time this morning figuring out why ea starters go click click click even when I put brand new contacts and clean up the electrical connections... I tore down the whole starter, re-greased all the bearings and gears and whatnot. Figured out the issue was a lack of getting a good ground to the motor, so dealt with that. I have yet to install it though because I had to drill out some bolts to get it apart and haven't been to town yet for replacements.

But the major reason my other project with the relays hit the back burner is because my drive shaft has arthritis. It was making a faint sound before that I thought was a CV, specifically the one that made a mess, but I replaced that one and it didn't change any clicking. Now it's gotten a bunch louder, and driving with the drive shaft disconnected makes the noise go away. So I don't have 4wd right now, but I have transportation until I get my Legacy fixed. Eff inspection, but I need registration, etc... heh

So....

I installed the rebuild alternator. It's probably just me, but it seems like it cranks faster... Probably the same idea as butt dyno recalibration and ej22 intakes. Anyway, I'm hoping I don't get any more click click click. It's a little embarrassing leaving a client's house and having to get out and bang on my starter with a hammer... A big thanks to Jason for loaning me the starter to rip apart possibly never to go back together in a working form. haha.

I ordered U-joints for my driveshaft, I should have them by the end of the week. Someone has a guide up on a Mazda forum how to replace staked in non-replaceable staked in u-joins with these expensive replaceable doodads from some company in Illinois. And according to their catalog and some good sources over on USMB it's the same part and everything for subarus.... So I'm gonna have a crack at it.

Cool thing is they have zerk fittings so I can grease them up every oil change or whatever to keep them happy.
