das GL!

I put the driver's side OBS seat in my car today! It's awesome!! I didn't do the passenger's yet though... I was just starting to grind the mounts off the old seat and my cutting disk literally blew up and almost went through my safety glasses!!! I don't have any more grinding disks though, so I'll just do the passenger's side some other time.
good thing you were being safe!

It was pretty scary!! Huge gouge that goes almost all the way through the lens!

You bet I'm never going to touch a grinder again without safety glasses!

I think this weekend I'll weld the other side. I wish I had my own welder so I could weld stuff whenever I wanted.

I took it on a nice drive through the forest today. It's so pretty with all the leaves all over the old logging road/river bed I was driving on. Since I forgot my camera you will all have to imagine how nice it was

Tomorrow I'll probably go back out WITH camera.

I have the day off, and I'm borrowing a welder. So I made some things.

My spare tire jack fully extended doesn't even reach the rocker panels.... So I made it reach!!

And I put the passenger's side seat in!! OBS seats in my GL!

Not the prettiest seats, but I'm sure they're a big improvement!

Was the original seats' padding all flattened out?

They're just stained... I can clean them. They're a lot more comfortable. They have more (I know there's a word for this) cushiony stuff on the edges to keep you from sliding around. And they're built better.

I hacked my stock radio to make it so my iPod can plug in. Charge, turn on and off with the car, etc. Much like the setup I have in my Legacy. It's awesome. Here's a pic. The little switch on the right is to change from radio to iPod.

Ooohh, charging would be nice. Luckily, you have everything you need in the ipod cable. I'd have to have a USB cable for charging and the regular headphone/aux for audio. Can't do audio over usb :\.

A few years ago I bought a bunch of iPod connectors. Just the connector. So get a wire with at least 5 pins, an iPod pinout, and you can have charging and audio from the same connector. Then just go to the parts bin and make a voltage regulator thingy and tie it all together. Pretty easy, really.

Oh. Mine was free...

Even if you have a sandisk, or sony or something with the one connector at the bottom for power, usb, line out, etc, etc. You can buy the blank connector for it and make your own system. I've done it for people with all the ones I listed and more.

GL helped clear some of my parent's last on the lake in Jefferson today. Pulling big logs and rocks around, etc. Got some new battle wounds. Here it's just resting watching the fire for me.

Yep, had a permit. And that's small! It was at least 3 times that size during the height of it.

We had about 5 5gal buckets full of water and the lake not to far off.
