das GL!

I was out in the garage today getting some pics of connectors and whatnot so I can start tracking down what's the best harness to use for my EJ22. While I was out there I pulled a valve cover to see what it looked like in there.... I like what I see!!

nice photo..

that is as close to an ej I will ever get.

liking the adjustability, and use of sohc...

a whole lot of bearing going on. I am going to look away it is hideous.

ever try out that 5w50 syntec?

no regrets, in fact it is startling how far that goes. (that dynamically large number is real today, used to be a faker without synthetic)

Hah, looks a little like the GL-10 turbo that was my first car, except mine was twilight blue. I drove that thing until the transmission would not shift anymore the radiator boiled every trip and the exhaust fell off. Oh and the break rotors cracked. But whatever, it was good for the $600 bucks I had in it.

BTW, yours looks much much nicer than mine was. Bet it goes everywhere!

Looks good!! Nice and clean, so hurry up and get the rest of the parts together!! lol
Working on it!! Trying to sell my phase2 harness now to get some monies, someone can use it for swapping a new ej25 into an older car, or something.

Looking for a phase1 22 or 25 harness. It would be nice to just buy it from someone, I really don't feel like stripping one out of a car in freezing cold weather in a junk yard... I can strip the harness down to just EM no problem. I just need to get the harness.

So this car's new engine has been stolen by a car nearly 10 years older... What a bully!!

Anyhoo, I needed to haul off the 98LGT's old engine to it's new home. Of course my trailer is buried. DEEP in heavy, crusty, snow.

So I hoisted it up, and loaded it in the trunk of the GL. fit's pretty well, actually. Intake manifold has been stripped off, or it wouldn't fit.

I broke it today... kinda badly. I was heading out to a mud hole. It's some trail, then MUD. I was just about to the mud when I started getting a bad, bad noise from the back right. A crunchy something is effed up noise. So I got out to look. The end of the torsen bar had rusted and broken off. The trailing arm was a little crooked, and the strut was rubbing the inside of the wheel well. So before something came loose and I broke more POOP I turned around to go home. The noises got worse. By the time I got home the strut had rubbed a hole into the trunk and the trailing arm is so close to coming loose I have no idea why it's still connected to the car.

So ya, this sucks. It's going to be hard/expensive to find a torsen bar, and a pain in the DONKEY to replace.

Last resort is to weld it, but it's so far gone it'll be hard to make it sturdy again.

that sucks!!!!!

hopefully you get that fixed, and especially before we have another dirt drive!!!
I need to get it fixed so I have a car to drive around if the tranny swap goes to hell in my legacy.

And the dirt drive!! It would be devastating to miss that.

On the topic of dirt drive, I need to get some 15" 6lug steel rims I can re-drill to fit my car. Then get some gravels!!

I'll keep my eye open for you!! And just for reference if you call places looking for it, it isn't a torsion bar on these cars. I guess it would be called the rear subframe. But I have a couple people I can check with.
