das GL!

And I haven't gotten the new wiring in yet. I'm a dunce and need to extend one of the cables. But just a little soldering and it'll be better. No biggie. I spent the better part of the day parting out old computers (yuck). Then when I got sick of that and went offroading a bit. where is where the pics came from. I came upon a big mud puddle I was afraid to go through because I didn't want to either get stuck, or get my disty so wet the engine died then get stuck. So I just turned around, went for a walk for a while. Did some power turns in an empty dirt parking lot and had some guy get mad and try to follow me, but I shook him by driving into the woods on some random trail ... exciting day. haha.

Oh, and some guy also came up to me and told me that it was an awesome car and he was really jealous and wanted one bad. Made me smile. I love this car!

I also made the legacy work again and drove it really fast around some sharp corners

off topic: i had this happen once, but it was because i went parking across from his house with a cheerleader in the wee hours of the morning

on topic: if i had angrier tires on the foz, i'd go off roading with ya'll, but last time i had it in mud (6" and uphill) it was like a go-kart on ice, but not as cold

Haha, that's funny.

Jason has a winch on the brat...

Chris, I wish I had old computers to part out. Got any 939 stuff lying around?

Maybe, I've been parting out older mac desktops. All broken, just been pulling what's useful, saving some good looking cases, and tossing the rest. If I can get a few working machines to sell or give away I'll be happy.

Some mac laptops too, which is nice because the old G3s and G4s have good quality memory I can re-use in other laptops (Jason, this includes yours

)

I have no idea if I have any 939 stuff in the pile-o-crap that needs to be carted off to the dump. Probably not because I have very few AMD systems, need something?

Haha, that's funny.
kinda, now we're engaged. and somehow i don't think she'd like me beating on her daily driver. after i pay off my car (hopefully this winter) i'm thinking about another forester with a 5-speed and maybe more clearence

Kind of. My Opteron 175 died last Thursday morning and its painful being on a single core @ 2.5ghz (3700+). I had my Opty clocked to 2.7, and its a dual core.

huh .... swap an ej22 into it!

ps. my quad core 3.0GHz intel system is still the ****.

I'm thinking next summer. Get used to how it is offrodaing and stuff now. Get the feel for the car. More power now wouldn't do anything for me not knowing how to handle it well offroad. But next summer when I have the funds and stuff I want to do it. Doesn't look to hard, actually. I read a big long PDF I found on USMB. Looks like exhaust and maybe the rad piping is gonna be the biggest pain.

The wiring doesn't look horrible, it's just getting the donor car all apart. I may just build a completely custom wiring harness. With the diagrams it would be easy.

I've actually been searching CL, UH, etc and rusted out/crashed phase1 ej22 cars are wicked cheap. Then I was thinking what if I found an ej22t. mmmmmmmmm

oh man, lifted turbo offroader.

Your quad is a q6600? I'm trying to think of processors that usually get 3ghz... It's not a 45nm quad, is it?

I think I talk about it in the computer thread. But it's a 2.5GHz Q8300 OC'd. So yah, 45nm. 4GB ram, 2TB hard drive space, 3 flat screens ..... Beastly thing. But that's the end of computer chatter in my CAR thread. I don't want everyone to know I'm a computer geek

and p.s. It runs Linux...

Wait what.

Take alook at post three, http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1937559. I'm sure you've seen this GL on USMB, but in case you haven't, it's really well done.

So you are saying that I really am a computer geek? hahaha I know ..... I am .............

That's one sexy GL there! WOW. He's done a really nice job with it. I'm wholly jealous. And interesting idea with the RX AWD tranny, the only drawback of that is you get 3.7 gears instead of 3.9 gears. I guess it wouldn't matter so much with the ej22

And when I do the ej22 swap napa is probably gonna hate me for going through so many life time warranty axles in the front. haha

Yeah that GL is amazing. Tex did an awesome job with it. He also has an old RX with an EJ20 swap!!

So this morning I was running a little late for work... So I hopped in the GL. Had to get from Bremen to South Bristol. Took Fogler rd > benner RD > 130S > split rock road > 129. I only had to go about half a mile on 130 and maybe a mile on 129, the rest was back roads.

So being in a hurry, of course I came up behind people driving the speed limit... I was cruising along at about 65mph, I'd just lay on the horn when I saw someone infront of me, and I guess the GL looks scary enough in their rear view mirror because EVERY single person, even people in big pickups pulled over and let me past!

Oh jeez. Good to hear you're intimidating the locals!! LOL Did you get that rotor??
Haven't gotten the rotor yet. I'll grab it during dinner break. And do an oil change in the legacy.

I wish people would pull over for me. Being a kid I really don't want to have someone complain to the police about me, so no horn-laying allowed.
