My subaru had a nice drive from Orono to Brunswick in the rain today, except having the boat on the roof is like a sail if there's any wind.

It's a little funny shaped because it's for whitewater, so I have to keep it upside down in the saddles on the knee braces and back deck. It's a lot more aerodynamic, but a boat on your roof is gonna f-up you're aerodynamics no matter what you do, no way around it. Words of wisdom; don't keep kayaks sitting right side up, it's bad for them, I always transport mine upside down and store them either on the end or side.
