MINI GROUP DRIVE II

And if we go on some dirt trails id need to get another set of rims/tires! I got 18's right now with directionals on them now, and im driving with them in the winter! lol. I hope to get out with it and rally cross sometime!

So theres a lot of dirt roads back in rangeley one good one being the bemis track... the thing is that road happens to spit u out right on height of the land... the same road we took last Mini Group Drive its a cool road and i dont care if we take it again, if we do we can hit the byron road again! and from there move down to concord pond road...not sure after that. how does that sound anyone else wanna chime in?

Sounds like a good idea to me...as long as its dirt and we won't get shot at, I'm all for it.

Umm...you might want to keep the "out running" post to yourself for a few weeks or at least until the Neon jokes go away. With that said, I was recently diagnosed with Turbo Envy and I am currently taking medication for it. Thanks to everyone for their continued support.

i dont care abotu the "neon joke". it was a modded srt4 we started form a roll not a stop we werent side by side i was behind him so he woudl take off and i had to catch up and obviously if i got a ticket for driving too close he didnt out run me and lastly my car is basically stock. i have put a air filter and stag 1 tune. i could see if i spent a lot of time and money on my car gettign it fast then i lost but its pretty much stock

Mike, every time I have turbo envy I go watch a Duplessis video and it seems to take care of that pretty quick

I'm down for wherever as long as there's dirt.

We need to get him here on the site...even though he lives in NH and drives a VW. I think that Dan has some solid ideas for a route, but we're still open for more suggestions...I like the concord pond idea a lot, but I don't want to pressure the guys who did the last route plan to feel they have to do it again for this ride.

Not real positive, but the last I knew, they dont plow the Weld half of the Byron Road in the winter . I think it becomes a snowmobile trail... wherever we go, I believe I'm in

Hey Mike, count me in. I also don't mind helping Dan to plan another route if nobody comes up with a Better Locale than Rangeley. The last one wasn't too hard to plan and this time I am more prepared. I now have Rally Armor UR mudflaps, New foglights and foglight protector lenses, All Weather floormats, Tom-Tom navigation, Beltronics RX65 Radar Detector and of course I am still running the winter 16x7 rims with the Bridgestone Blizzaks. That way if I have to lead I will have protection and direction! And if I don't lead then I have foglight protection. I have given up on intensely protecting the paint on the black 09 WRX. My paint is got about 15 tiny chips in the hood and bumper and I busted both foglights all due to the dirt and gravel I drive on in the winter. As for Kristof and worrying about his paint, its not the wheel wells and sides you should be worried about, I drove until early February with no flaps and it doesn't seem to have bothered my paint on the sides, the problem I had is tailgaiting too much for these gravel covered Chesterville and Fayette winter roads. Don't get any closer than 6 car lengths at 40mph to avoid this problem.

Umm, by the way I know I have not been online much but what happened to RaysRS? Why do you now have a jeep? Did I miss something?

Rays RS went to Mark, Mark's jeep went to Ray (or something like that)

now Ray is ready for sweep work, Mark is in the throes of "what project to do first/next/whenever to the groovy suby"

my money is on the Jeep for being ready for the group drive, but Iwouldn't count out Mark's RS just yet even tho there's rumor of a swap hap'nin immejitly

my fasha(papagak) found a cool road rt117 between turner/bridgton from there u hit 302 strait back to portland or 95. it would connect us up by concord pond area, its not dirt but it curvey and has some cool mountian views/lake views

Not trying to be a wet blanket here, but it gots to be pointed out...

When/if the group drive ends up doing the Concord Pond road, it's crucial to remember that you guys have one major responsibility: Please Do NOT Screw Up With The Locals. There are a lot of landowners and homeowners on that road, and with a buncha sudy doods hooning around...all it takes is one bad encounter with a local (like punting a minivan off the road cuz you are too sideways on a blind crest) and New England Forest Rally could lose that road for good.

Concord Pond is one of the best stages on the whole North American rally circuit...you owe it to a very large rally community to make sure that an MS group drive does not endanger continued access there.

Same goes for any road that the rally has used, or wants to in future.

Sounds like you've been busy! We're glad you're going to make it. It seems like we're going to be heading up to Rangeley again which is cool with me. As for trying to protect any car's finish, I was there when my car was new too...and it wore off. Chips happen and can be fixed. Glad to have you on board my friend.

yes, I traded for Marks jeep, an offroad toy fits me better
