The Official MS Bike Talk Thread - motors need not apply

I think i'm gonna try to get out this weekend. Maybe head up to Bradbury if time permits or just do Robinson Woods. I'd REALLY like to hit Bradbury though.
I ran up there last week. WET! And closed to bikes and horses. Hopefully it has all frozen up. Better call first.

I'll check the website to see wassup...

As for the tires... the good ones are the 127TPI Kevlar Bead... Should be about $35 each.

Here's a linky and it's actually cheaper than Pricepoint...

You know, I don't think I've ever tried those! Might be time- my current ones are getting smooth....

This rain will likely close BBury for the weekend. Sopo might be ok tho. Anyone around and interested in getting a turkey-weekend ride in?

Looks like bradbury/knights is going to be closed for awhile

FYI, I scraped my windows for the first time this year. Must've looked funny scraping with a bigass bike rack still attached

SWEET! Google Earth 5.0 (beta is downloadable now) includes GPS data importing on the free version. I was paying $ for an annual subscription to Google Earth Plus for this functionality! Anyone else with a GPS on their bike should probably download this immediately.

On another note, I saw pics from Rage's winter ride, and I'm starting to miss riding a lot. The new Panaracers look all tough and all, but they're way too clean. I can't wait until the end of mud season!

That's the thing here in Maine...can't really start mountain biking until July when things dry up... have to either poach on the trails or be a road weenie.

I just picked up a hydration pack at NortFace in Freeport for $28 it is of the nalgene variety as far as the bladder goes.

they had probably 60 or so when I was there last weekend.

I had a Nalgene one for a season and a half - wasn't the prettiest rig, but it worked really well. Tres light and tres breathable. There was a magnet in the bite valve that kept it pinned to my chest when it wasn't in my mouth.

My only complaint was that it only held 1.5 liters. That is a lot of water by itself, but I have a fear of getting into the woods, my bike breaking, and having to hike out uphill the whole way...necessitating more water consumption than originally planned.

yeah the one I got was 2 liters. and you can order a 3 liter from their webstore. nice thing is the tubing is the same for all the bladders. and it is the click in rather than the permenantly attached version like camelbak.

Get the funk cleaning kit. The first time the tube fills up with fuzz, you'll be glad you did
