The Official MS Bike Talk Thread - motors need not apply

yeah the only reason I got this one is that I wanted a smaller pack for an upcomming trip and I like the bitevalve of the nalgene better.

plus my wife left somethign in the nalgene bladder and it went.... well .... really bad. like stained the bladder.. I tossed it. no way was I ever drinking out of that again.

you can get some of those silica gel packets that are foodsafe and put those in the bladder when you are storing it. they keep them nice and fresh.

or a small mesh bag of rice with a little salt. works wonders.

Did I mention that I, in my haste to put the bike away after my last ride (Thanksgiving weekend up in Orono - did 18 miles in the fa-REE-zing cold) I neglected to empty my 'bak?

Yup. Found it last night. Full-ish. I picked it up, felt the heft, realized what I had done, and set it back down. I'm terrified to open the thing up and see what I've grown. I do, however, have the funk-kit...plus a gallon of clorox at my disposal. I should be okay, right?

you should be fine. I have done that a few times. but this was probaly 2 years of sitting.. *barf*

Ew. Yours is definitely worse.

However, I can't tell you how many non-bike buddies have been all "put some freakin' rum and COKE in that bad boy, and let's go to a high school football game!"

I cannot fathom how disgusting it would be to taste even the HINT of booze in my trail water after pulling a stunt like that.

Sweet deal!
I got a dynaflex pro gyro this weekend... so watch out for my killer kung fu death grip come spring!
Ha! I have one of those- used to use it when I was climbing more. Always had trouble starting it tho
