The Official MS Bike Talk Thread - motors need not apply

Well, last year I was diagnosed with "exercise-induced asthma" - a condition that I didn't believe in, frankly. I think I had my first asthma attack about a quarter-mile in. I'm not sure, but it felt like someone was grabbing my throat, and it was impossible to get enough air to continue. I'm glad I had the inhaler thing with me, but I'd much rather have been spinning with everyone.
On another note, I'm not sure you caught my epic tumble roll...at least I got it out of my system early in the season

Jim- you definitely bailed at the right time- there was a whole lot more up from there. We lost two more folks before the ride was over. Hugely gruntacular.

I'll PM you my email address- drop me a line if you want to ride something mellow and flat(ter) at the river tonight.

You guys riding in the dark? I am asking cause I have no lights and soon I will be jumping in on some rides. I prefer mellow right now until my hockey injury heals completely.

Nah, you don't need lights. We're done by dark.

if anyone is looking to upgrade their ride... i'm selling off some of my bike collection. Selling the 2000 Mongoose Pro Titanium frame (18"). Weighs in at around 3.5lbs. Flexy but responsive. It's a hoot to ride. Asking price $450.

Posted to the Rage site:

Beginner ride #2 of the season:

Saturday, 10am, Bradbury Mountain State Park

All ages and abilities welcome! On this 2 hour ride you can expect mellowness, lots o' stops, instructional opportunities, falling and laughing. Fun factor in the low 12's ( My dial goes to 14...)

The park is likely to be pretty busy as usual, meet up at the blue Subaru with the excessively-stickered roof box and obnoxiously yellow/green bike. Hopefully in the upper lot. I'll be there by 9:30. Don't forget your cash for the park fee (or just buy a pass already, jeez...)

There will likely be a "power hour" ride afterwards, going out around 12:30.

Looking on the rage site, looks like tonite's ride is off and rescheduled for tomorrow. It's figgin' pouring in SoPo right now. If it stops raining, I might still show up to ride.

I'm still going...according to the radar loops at noaa.gov, we've got a window of about 1.25 - 1.5 hours at least.

Where were you? It actually turned out to be a great ride. Good pace, little rain, but then it cleared up. Skeeters were pretty bad and the roots & bridges were a bit greasy... I took a thump on a bridge when the rear wheel slid out. Took a tree in the shoulder too.

Explored some other trails off Canco Rd. Nice little loop there w/ a bunch of skinny bridges.
