MINI GROUP DRIVE II

Well, we know who can do route planning for the next dirt drive! Dan, you're off the hook for MINI GROUP DRIVE III.

Not going to be able to go along for the whole drive but I'll probably see you guys in Auburn for the start, maybe follow along for a bit on Rt. 4

ok so google maps says theres a shiit load of extra miles! BUT IT WRONG! i know some shortcuts that can take lots of time out... also dont forget to bring a walkie with its pair if u can just incase someone need one who didnt read this also some cash for food and petro. on the run we will be makeing some cool stops for Pix bathroom break ect.
Dude, I think that is because, or at least it appears to me that all legs are seperate routes, not being calculated together. That accounts for the extra mileage. Also the directions seem to be wrong when I open them, they would have me driving all over the place back and forth by the looks. I seem to have 4 to 5 interconnected but not related routes. Is this what I am supposed to see or did I F something up?

I thought the back and forth was on purpose...

Well when I make a route I make it point to point, end to end. No legs ro confuse the routing. Problem is once its created it reads off the directions, but does not outline the whole route from end to end, just about 80% of it. Also Dan's Map left out the Byron Rd. the one we had so much fun on last time. Here is a preliminary route that I just created. It is what we did last time, just backwards and it leaves out the reeds mills road segment between madrid and strong. Let me know what you guys think if this route, if we want to add back in reeds mills road and the other back roads on the opposite side of the river from Rt. 4. I also incuded bemis road, but I am told that 1/2 of it is skidder trail impassible, and the other end is practically a dirt highway that leads to Rangeley's "Golden Ghetto". Where a lot of the richies live. My route reads 149 mile, 4 hours 54 mins.

What I would like to do is keep this as simple as possible and it seems that Ryan's map fits the bill. Like mentioned, it is basically the same route we did back in November which worked out pretty well. The thing is that we can always make decisions on the fly, thankfully we have some folks coming along for the ride who know the area very well. For now, I'll replace the route on the OP with Ryan's (no offense intended Dan) and we'll go from there. Just one more week fellas!

Wow, K, well don't be insulted if I don't feel the least bit bad that you can't make in light of that, lol.

My cousin is stationed in Oklahoma. We just saw him over lunch down in Mass. before he goes out to Germany (in the Alps, I are jealous) before he goes to Afghanistan (not so jealous).

In his free time, he chases tornadoes and bad storms in his lifted F150. I make fun of him, but that thing can just own through 3+ feet of snow. 4ft, however, blows his tranny.

WTF are you guys talking about.

I know it's nearly impossible for you guys to keep things on topic, but seriously, we have spam threads for you to verbal diarrhea all over.

Group drive thread k thanks

I could be down for this. I'm all the way up in Orono at UMO. Is there any other crazy person from up here planning on taking the drive down?
