The Official MS Bike Talk Thread - motors need not apply

I don't know what it's called, but that section of track to the right of the "FINISH" bubble on the map linked above is awesome. I prefer taking it counterclockwise myself.

That's Lanzo and Ragan. Primo carving and cruising up there. Ragan is my favorite.

Try the 12 hour route. It covers the best trail out there. There are some new offshoots that are fun as well.

I'm going to try to do that loop. Switchback across the road and the O trail are the ones I really want to do first, but I'm going to try to string together a nice ride of all of them. I should have about 3 hours of daylight to work with

Man... I wanna ride bradbury. At the beach in SC now. been riding on the beach. Haha! Then drinking a lot. I will need detox when I get home.

Bradbury rocks! I'm so impressed with the trail system up there, i'll be going a lot this year! I need to get my saddle toughess back, i can barely sit down today. You can really fly down the intermediate trails! And the O trail isn't too tricky too ride, but just tricky enough to keep you on your toes. Loved it!

Glad you had enough light to see what the park had to offer

I didnt even use all the daylight i had

They dont allow night riding out there though, so I dont have to worry about a headlamp or anything like that. I'll be riding out there two or three times a week at least for the rest of the summer ;-) First REALLY nice singletrack i've hit since i left Orono in '06. The river trail here is only enough to wet my whistle, but doesn't really have a lot of flow or "mojo moments". And the only other place I rode was at Mt. Apetite in Auburn which personally i thought was complete garbage.

Oh, dammit. Doing a fatty ride with some buds starting at 9AM on Sunday. Will I be a wicked jerk if I ride but don't rake?

Getting a team together for the 12hrs... woot! Now I just have to start mountain biking again and unfortunately i've already been voted team captain so it looks like i'll be running at the start... damn.

Anyone know how long the run is? Some of the Granny Gear races had pretty long jogs...

Sweet dude! I think i'll have a team too, although I have another captain. I've been biking a ton lately on the river trail in portland. I'm still waiting for my vehicle pass to bradbury so that's been off limits...

Open invite to join us, rugged. I've got the pass for das auto, and all you'd have to do is wait at intersections

May be going up Saturday morning, actually.

I'm in aweful shape still! When i did the O trail by the end i was gassed! All the hucking up and down rocks wore me out. You'd be waiting for me i'm sure.

I want to get out there Saturday but i'm putting the coating in the garage floor that day (or at least that's the plan if it ever stops raining). Hopefully i'll have time for a ride after.

Woot - sister delivering pedals tomorrow night. Shoes went backordered the instant I put in an order, so now I have to rely on *gasp* retail for shoes. Anyone got any suggestions that are available locally? I wear a 10-10.5 shoe (medium width).

Wicked short. You know the field at bradbury? You run up around a cone at one end and back. Maybe 50 yards?

Not much of an advantage to being first out IMHO. The race is small enough that you'll be able to pass for most of the course.

Stop by Cyclemania on India and see what they have. It might also be worth a call up to Bath Cycle. It seems like most of the shops around here carry limited inventory. I wear Sidi Dominators, but I don't think I'd suggest them as your first shoes. You might like the Lakes MX300s or some Diadora Chilis. Be prepared to spend about $100-$150.

shagginwagon - where you been? Thought you might hit Rira last night! Three Dollar Dewey's afterward...I know you like!
