Any one for a Sunday ride?
I was out on CascoBay in the AM when it was nice. Suited up for a ride around 2p but the weather turned to crap before I could even step off the porch.

Tuesday or Wednesday?

Any one for a Sunday ride?
I wish I opened my computer on Saturday. I went Sunday witha buddy over in SP/CAPE. Dyer Hutch. And here is the run down.

Buddy picked me up in his 07 or 06 WRB Rex with a big fart can. I was sitting with wife waiting adn she says, I think he is coming. 1 minute later he pulls in. And I joke with him that his car is loud, but I like it... Load bikes up at 9am, he then rolls his car out of my driveway. Again, I am laughing at him cause he tries to keep it quiet. (Then why the fart I can I am thinking.) So we get to the parking lot over on ficket/sawyer and get riding. And you know all those boards that you ride over, well one was not nailed in and it split and my bike get sucked into the big gap and I went flying, that hurt. So I get going again and we ride for like 50 minutes, my buddy took a nice digger and I was just not all there. (Night before wee went to a wedding, so a few drinks we drank, but more when we got home...yikes) So we decided to call it quits. Loaded bikes onto his Yakima rack, and off we went. As we were drining down 77, we hear something hit the car, it was one of the tires that came off the tire rack. And down 77 goes my front wheel. And I am laughing but at the same time like O ****, I just put 300 bucks into my bike, i don't need this. So we turn around and this young teenage girl saw the tire crash into her fence...

So over all a ****ty ride, glad I made it home safe, where gardening would be a lot safer...

So, this week ride. Maybe tomorrow afternoon.

shaggin', you missing link. (and others!) TNR in cape/sopo...I'm pretty sure I'm actually going to make this one!

smosh! wassup buddy?!

I wanna do the TNR tonite but i'm getting sh!t from work about attending a vendor customer appreciation event at the Seadogs game. wtf. Ride or eat free food and drink free beer? I'm leaning toward the ride.

What time does the TNR take off? Spurwink Med Ctr lot right?

I think I am selling my bikes and buying a recliner. Busy summer, no time, wife works nights, so I got baby duty. Hopefully soon I will make it out. Maybe Saturday morning? 8-9ish?

I want to know where those sopo trails are. Anyonre got a map? GPS data? Trailhead on google? Info on where to ride it?
Bunch of differant places to start. I like to get on at Sawyer Rd. There is a wood chip type parking lot. Also, I think it is still sawyer, or ficket, there is a small wooded parking lot, but you have to keep you eyes peeled. Let me know if you want to ride over there some day. Also, from there you can go over to cape. some road riding, and private neighborhood, good ride...

I will search. But look under green belt trails...

I usually start over at Ft. Williams and head into the trails that way... Quick little trail at the back of a neighborhood (Greenbelt) and then it jumps over into Robinson Woods which dumps out over by the church on 77. From there you can go over behind CE HS but from what i've been reading on the Maniacs forum there's a new house that's blocking the trail now.

Look up Maniacs on Yahoo! Groups. It's the best place to get updates about group rides which are a great way to find out where the trails are.

Heading down to WV at the end of the week for the 24hrs of Big Bear. Can't wait to ride in the wee hours of the night. Love it.

I've heard its out there...but the little searching i did last year out there turned up nothing.

Mike i've ridden those Cape trails. I got wicked lost

Hey I wanted to ask for you guys info: I would like to get back into riding I'm looking for a descent starter bike New or used. I will use it on-road 40% off-road 60%. I want something strong. I'm a big dude for you who don't know me. 6'4" 280. My wife is looking to join me in looking for a good bike too for her. She has a old Fuji and I don't know if it's worth it to bring it back up to snuff. All and any info will be greatly appreciated. -Tim

Here's the big question... how much do you want to spend? That'll determine what you can get. Is the wife's Fuji a road bike or mtn?

I'm back from WV. Sick riding at the 24hrs of Big Bear. The mud was like peanut butter and the hills were big. Made me realize how out of shape I am. Still ended up doing 1 pre-race lap and 3 race laps.

Was also talking to a friend of mine from DirtRag and he was telling me that I should convert my 26" mtb to a 69er... pondering doing it now. ANyone have an extra 29" front wheel with disc hub laying around?

I was at AllSpeed in portland the other day and they have an EPIC chromo singlespeed all rigid 29'er with discs. I want it! Didnt see the price tag, but I bet its reasonable.

Nice! How long were the laps?

69er is the new biopace

Well, you could buy my Dean and be done with it. It's nicely put together and hanging out in my LR. Ti/discs/Marzocchi fork. Might be more than you want to spend, tho (~$1800)

Specialized used to be my go-to brand for bang for the buck. Check out Trek also.
