The Official MS Bike Talk Thread - motors need not apply

Nice! I was out there that 70F day as well. Then again on Saturday- cold enough that the mud was freezing to the frame and rims.

Looks like this coming weekend will be nice.

Bleh...I need to get out there and get myself into some sort of shape. I think I rode my bike on the trainer two or three times this winter, hahaha...lazy.

Yeah, I'm in this club too. Gonna start biking once I graduate and start working.

Does someone want to plan a get together sometime in the spring...maybe at Sunday River or something when their bike trails open?

Back in a different life, I raced road bikes under a Nike Regional race team...those days are long gone. I'll give a new definition of slow when I get back on the bike.

did mt apatite park in auburn today with a guy from work and his daughter. 3.1 miles, mostly solid ground, some mud, rocks and roots, but overall definately worth it. if anyone's interested it's off garfield rd and maps can be obtained from auburn parks and rec department on pettingill rd.

Very nice! I rode some stuff in the fore river sanct and behind unum sunday. Nice easy cruisers.

The Rage Tuesday Night Ride is at the Presumscott river this week. Meeting at the Pheasant Hill St lot next to the old Andover College mall off washington ave, Portland. 530pm

Hey, all - just checking in, even though I don't drive a Subie any more. ShagginWagon, I think you burbled past me as you took a left onto Washington Ave last night. I heard this rumble coming up beside me, then I saw the dark blue wagon with the twin antiaircraft guns for exhausts poking out the back. Oh, and you had a bike on the roof, too - that was the big clue.

I've put on a ton of weight, and I need to get riding ASAP. We should do a MS group ride if there's interest

I'm game for MS group rides. I do a ton of riding at Aggie in York as well as Clifford Park in Biddeford. Lots of great technical riding to be had at those places. I do road trips south to. Fort Rock in Exeter NH is another great place to ride. Highlands Mountain bike park is a must do for me this year as well. Great place to go if your into DH at all.

I've got my Maine State Park vehicle pass on the way from the gubmint...how about a Bradbury ride? It's going to rain for the next few days, so I'm thinking next week-ish? Once I get the pass, everyone in my vehicle can get in free.

Hey Jim! I didn't see you last night! I would love to do mellow Bradbury MS ride. I haven't been up there yet this year, but I hear it's open. It probably could use a bit more drying out- should be primo next week.

One of the more tech-saavy guys posted the ride from last night. Here it is- the Presumscott river loop for the GPS enabled:

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&ie=UTF8&msa=0&msid=106858264467174443924.000484289dd2051097e42&ll=43.719009,-70.280743&spn=0.056822,0.102997&t=h&z=13&iwloc=00048428a52152ece44c6

Mellow and Bradbury both appeal to me, since I'm outta shape and Bradbury is close to my folks. I'll have to take a rain check since I'm up in Bangor till May 15th though.

Nice mapping!

I'm riding SoPo/Cape tonite around 5:30. Wish you had the mapping done for that route. I don't know how to get over to Robinson Woods when starting at the Spurwink Medical Center. I can probably figure it out but i've only done it on night rides.
