The unofficial GUN talk thread

10/22 is the best choice for a plinker in my opinion.

the other 22's are good, but there are so many accessories for the 1022.

mine's extremely accurate and really fun to shoot.

I haven't had many failures to fire/feed except with crap winchester bulk ammo and a bad magazine that i bought.

sig, smith and wesson, and a few other companies have tried to get into the "tactical" .22's, but their products aren't as nice.

the smith and wesson mp22 looks really good, but it's not as reliable.

plus, you can get archagel stocks for the ruger that make it look like an ar-15 or G36 instead of the hybrid like mine.

anyways, always a work in progress.

I had gsg-522 sd was fun gun to shoot but using the conversion on my ar is a lot better , I will proubly die with this gun lol

Agreed on the 10/22. Everyone should have one even if its your only rifle. Fun in box stock form. Fun to soup up. Fun casual and serious plinkers.

I like that^^ Just don't lean against a tree. You'll lose it.

My future upgrades to my 22 will be a Hogue stock. that's it. Maybe a bull barrel, but I like using open sights so maybe just duracoat the flat stainless barrel I have to something a bit more tacticool.

14 in the tube, very accurate and light as hell. I'd pick it over many other weapons!

Anyone want to shoot tuesday or thursday afternoons? I have nothing to do from 3-6, and still want to try my 94 scout more before the season starts

My son and I went shootin today in Nude Hampster. It was an IDPA beginners clinic. It was a bit brief but we got some rounds thru the cardboard and had a good time learning tecnique. My son says he's going to do competition now. I got some time in behind the 1911 and he drove the Ruger. I have a feeling my ammo bill will be doubling soon.

Ive had mine for 30+ years. I dont think Ive ever had a FTF other than junk walmart bulk rounds. You have to TRY to miss with it.

Got it on my 500. Seems fine other than I tend to hit the rail pieces on the pump a bit. I took the side ones off still want to put a flashlight on the bottom one or the tube, haven't decided yet.

Thinking about throwing this on the ole 590A1. Thoughts? Does anyone have any suggestions?

I like the fore end and the collapsable buttstock, but I'm not really big on side folder stocks, I considered one for my mossberg 500, but it didn't feel solid.

Might want to read the reviews on it first.

Good point. I'll see if they have a fixed version!

Some crappy pics of the new additions to the Remington 870.

Wilson Combat 2 shot extension

Wilson Combat jumbo head safety

6 shot side saddle

Surefire G2 light

IWC radial light mount

Gear Sector single point sling

Magpul SGA sling mount

Magpul SGA MOE furniture

It was a clean install (tiny bit of work with Dremel) on the MOE furniture.

I think they do, if you are ever up towards Farmington let me know if you want to check out how the side folder latches. It kinda drops down when you fold it, and swings back up and into place when you unfold it.
