The unofficial GUN talk thread

I owned one of the new style ones and it was fun and I enjoyed shooting it but it doesn't do anything the AR can't do while doing nothing that the AR can.
If you want to try an AR type platform but still be a little different...go with a Daewoo DR200 I love mine, threw an ACE skeleton stock on it,it could use an optic, but its fine without one.No miserable AR gas system (which isn't too bad if you keep them clean) It takes AR mags, looks almost ARish, plus a little Galil and some AK thrown in there. When I get a chance Ill get some toy pics up here. I got mine for $550.pretty good bargain compared to $700+ for a decent Bushy or DPMS.

I wouldn't have even done it with that stupid stock on there.

And now I am off to mow the back lawn so that it isn't half a foot high anymore, heh. There's at least 10 or 15 .223 rounds that vanished into the grass this afternoon..

Your whole upper body rapidly shuttered! Yow!

Reminds me, I have a bunch (8 or 10 boxes) of turkey and duck loads the old man gave I need to use up properly.

Nope, for once...that's how you kill ants and make damn sure the little wankers ain't coming back.

Hypothetical question.

If you had to shoot .302 and only had two choises..

1) new Springfield M1A/M14 semi only, tactical

2) new AR-10 full size with 20" barrel

Which would you chose? Why?

As much as I love the m1, I gotta say ar. I'm willing to bet its lighter, better ergonomics and more aftermarket support

I have owned both,(my springfield was a socom,a pretty big difference from the 20" AR) Myself,I chose to keep the AR-10. The AR platform has SO many different options. A little more limited when you go to the AR-10 platform, just because of the bigger size of the lower.Mine is an older Armalite 20" carry handle. I have a stainless bull barrel on mine, with a Miculeck comp, and it is a VERY heavy rifle. The bipod is pretty much a must-have.There are a few different triggers for the AR,while the M1/M14 has as many if not more trigger options. Id say if you want a tactical buildable platform- go AR,if you want a remake of the best battle rifle ever produced, get the M14 in a match model with a wooden stock.
