The unofficial GUN talk thread

A clip such as the stripper clips shown are used to reload the magazine. The en-bloc clip was used in the M1 and stayed in the magazine. That could be where the confusion began.

blmpkn, how is it as far as comfort while shooting? My fathers Kahr PM40 is a handful but is single stack where it looks like the sd40 is double.

I shot Sunday outside too only did 50 rnds loading .22 when u can't feel your hands .. Not fun
Trying to fit all 14 into a brandy-new MAGAZINE..

.. while its freezing is definitely not fun either. Leavin that mag full, hopefully the spring will loosen up some and it wont be such a p.I.t.a to put rounds into?

Yes. The sd line are dbl stack 16rds (9mm) and 14 (.40)

The pistol feels awesome in MY hands, but the story may not hold true for other folks with smaller/larger hands. I wish I could give you a real detailed rundown of how my "range" time went, but im not what you would call an avid or experienced shooter (yet

From what I can tell though, is its a nice handling, feeling (handsize), well made pistol. Ill make sure I keep you guys updated as I keep pumping the rounds through

I was looking for soreness and what-not. Once I can afford a pistol I plan on getting something like a pm40 or sd40. The pm40 is double action so the trigger has a really long pull which I dont care for.

My bad. Eh my hands were so cold when I shot it, its hard to tell if my hands were sore or not. Im going to take a leap and say : no.

Next time I get out with it, ill pay closer attention.

Another gun I will add to the list. I just have to make sure I can conceal it as any near future pistol will be bought at the same time I take my permit course.

I carry it concealed...ish. It'll tuck into an IWB fine (how I used to carry my P99 back in the day), but during the chilly months I'm just carrying it in my Blackhawk Serpa CQC w/paddle under my coat.

PM40 makes a great option for concealed carry. I find Kahr's DOA trigger to be smooth as butter! Actually almost can't be consider a DOA. Only knock I can have on the PM40 is that in the small frame you get less ammo then the same gun in 9mm, and the gun is hard to manage recoil in that size. I carry a Kahr CM9. It's the same size as the PM series, and obviously in 9mm. I have no problem laying down quick fire with it. I added a Crimson Trace laser to it also. Ride in a Highnoon "Mr. Softy" holster (made for my gun with CT laser), and it rides at my appendix.

It's kinda a down low operation... you know... in a back alley, with 4 doors you have to get through before you actually enter the place. And a large Irish dude smokin' a stogey with a K9. You've never seen that place?!
