you could try to use some heat, that may speed up the reaction time in the stripper and soften the sealer/paint itself quickly.. Not an open flame, but a heat gun.

if you rad the STi manual, the last page or so, clearly states 93 should be used however 91 may be used only temporarily. My utec flashes the check engine light if I have bad gas. Crush washer prevents the plug from being over-tightened. Stripped threats make you mad. Once it's crushed, it's tight.
